Andrews/Labor quite rightly called the bluff, and we Victorians deserve to flush that money down the drain.

Im all for taking responsibility for the situation. Just prior to the 2014 Victorian state election, the Libs put in a caveat in that east west link Rd had to be built otherwise there'd be a huge pay out to the contractors.

This was when the Libs were just behind in favouritism to win. If they won, they'd go ahead with the project. If they'd lose, they'd force Labor to go through with their project, which they can claim credit for.

But even better, if Labor didn't building the road and a payout occured , they could then crap on about how Labor has cost the state $1billion.

I listen to a lot of radio. liberals have been crapping on for 5 year about how much Labor has cost the state not building the road.

For however arrogant Andrews and his government is, they don't really get criticised for "costing" the state $1billion. When you consider how much money that is, the electorate don't really give a shit, and know that was the Libs being a bunch of spiteful douchebags.

In fact, people have so little a shit, Labor won seats in the eastern suburbs in 2018. The elecorates that would most benefit from the road.

I haven't yet shared my observations of the election. But there are nuggets of insight you get which allude to how/why they operate.

Here's one such term I've ripped off Morrison, which applies in reverse in Victoria agaist the Liberals.

Kevin here. If you think that finally you have some good government people, think again. All politicians are corrupt. Taking an example from my home town of Chicago, Illinois USA one of the most corrupt cities in America(politically). Politicians want only two things: to stay in power, and to keep getting donations to keep their pockets full of money!!
