Its curious to me that erotica seems to be the one form of entertainment where people continually throw large quantities of stuff away.

Might be because its so accessible and free or perhaps when we consume it its more often than not on impulse.

Once that initial thrill is over 2nd time around is never quite as good.

Too much of anything in real or fantasy worlds
leads to desensitization.

When ever i'm in the wrong frame of mind and not feeling 100%
its guaranteed no smut will be arousing just a waste of time.

A few long time collectors i know - having a purpose for their collections other than the obvious seems to be a circuit breaker for boredom

Otherwise adult databases would most likely never be built or be as complete as they are

I have stacks of VHS films, including about 15 CC releases from 1986 in their boxes. All still up in the loft. I copied them to disc some years ago, 'just incase'.

All I have is a collection of pics on my hd, thanks in large part to VEF. I recently trimmed down what I had, and saved three data CD's worth (1.8g?) of the essentials (Danni Ashe, erotic art, classics, etc). I dumped the rest (probably 6 gigs).

I am feeling the need for change lately, but I don't want to get rid of everything. The discs will sit in one of my CD wallets until I need them again. I know how it feels to want to get rid of everything that's tying you down and move on.

I had some stuff worth tossing, which I did, but some years back, I got the notion into my head that I'd get rid of all my mags and such and regret it. This came to mind as I have a Barely Legal magazine from 2002 on the way by mail which I re-bought because I tossed the original and many others like it that I now wish I had. Damn the porn haters who spread lies that it will make a serial killer out of you or worse. The offensive material they spew is far worse and damaging.

Not so much porn but I regretted getting rid of a load of newspaper cuttings I had once, but this was before I got on the Internet and had a scanner. There were some great clippings too but I have since chucked out three bags worth of magazines - having scanned them all first of course - and I intend to do the same with others I have soon. We all regret things but in the cold light of day as you get older you don't really need them...or do you?

I occasionally go through my magazines during rub-out sessions to see which ones are still "useful" as a whole. I think I do a pretty good job of rotating my inventory. The ones I decide to throw away are usually torn out page-by-page and used as 'drop cloth' while I whack off so I get total use out of all my magazines.

My dvd stash has decreased greatly since I watch more and more online porn the last several years. I don't even bring home that much stuff from NYC anymore. Many of the adult houses have either shut down (probably out of business because of the internet) or moved out of midtown where it was more accessible for me. Like the magazines, I only keep what dvds I actually watch now. I take dvds with one or two scenes I actually like and record those scenes onto a blank dvdrw by genre (BBW, MILF, 18+, asian, etc), then i toss the original dvd or take a stack of them down to the pawn shop for store credit.

One time during the late 80s, I took my meager stash and put it in a box during a move and purposely didn't mark it so my friends who were helping me move wouldnt' know the contents. Ended up getting put into a pile to be discarded and tossed it out as trash by mistake. I was heartbroken. It had all my Briarwood/Lyndon publication titles in it (300 Cotton Panties & Bare Bottoms, 300 Young Buns, 300 Asian Cuties, etc). A stack of about 28 titles. Guaranteed cork poppers. I still keep my eye out for those whenever I can find them.

Hey Pinkpaparcut, which "Jobby" shop would that be, or is there only one nowadays. I used to work near there a thousand years ago, but my fav shop was the one at the back of Chethams on Deansgate until the poor chap was murdered!

As for chucking stuff away I have done it several times and then started again. Not got much paper now, but chucked loads of mags away not realising they had any value. I think I'll try to sell the remaining ones though. I think I'm just a collector for collecting's sake. I have too much I do not watch, or want to watch, and I'm well on the way to getting 1 million pics just because I can, but I think when I get there I will delete the lot, or perhaps refine the collection to 10k of quality.

As for real women. From what I can recall of the pubs in that vicinity, some of the women would not need too much spending on them to get them to warm your bed.

chucked out a lot of magazines when we moved about six years ago so i think there is only one small box lurking somewhere now. occassionally i'll throw out the odd dvd from pre-r18 changes days that i know i won't watch again but in terms of dvds i'm a proper serious collector so the vast amount of others along with all the stuff downloaded from the likes of reality kings, naughty america, you know the rest is going nowhere. i'll happily take a look at a pm of any list of dvds anyone wants to get rid of in return for the costs of posting instead of binning the lot. I can't promise i won't already have them or will definitely want them (no BDSM, spanking, pvc/rubber, peeing, foot worship fetish stuff though it does nothing for me, sorry. but you can bring on in particular the girl/girl stuff, british stuff, usa milf eg julia ann by the truckload) so you might feel like you're wasting your time but you never know and it's better than even one or two going to landfill i suppose.
