Yes, I was. I guess that Filefactory noticed a problem with some accounts being hacked so they reacted by changing everyone's password just in case the hackers had got onto their servers and downloaded our log in details. By changing everyone's password they stopped the hackers in their tracks and made any info they might have got hold of useless.

I have just discovered that their site is currently unavailable. Server problems apparently.

Uploading speeds
Hi I wish to upload and share some files. I have read the tutorial and every thing went ok until I started uploading to my Gold account at File Factory. The speed my file was uploading at was a joke. 1.3 GB and 36hrs to upload by my estimate. I checked my internet connection and it tested at 3.2 MB per second download and 554KB upload per second. Am I missing something here it is my first time to share. All and any help would be appreciated.

I'm assuming that you are uploading via the FF webpage, so forgive me if you are using something else to upload with, although I figure that's what you are doing since you say that this is the first time you've tried to upload and share something before. Ok......my first suggestion, is to never upload anything, be it at FF or some other file host.....via that file host's web interface. Especially, if it's a file over 100 mb in size. Besides not being a very efficient way to upload, there's many things that might, and could go wrong, including dropped connections, and very slow upload speeds. So.....if not upload via the site's webpage, then how? Although I'm sure there are other programs that upload files as well, the two I use, work very well, and are what I suggest to use. One is called Zoom File & Image uploader, which is free, easy to use, and uploads to virtually any file host. Also......using this program to upload with, doesn't require a premium account at the particular file host you are uploading to. As I said, the program is free, and very easy to figure out. Zoom File & Image Uploader http://z-o-o-m.eu/ Another excellent way to upload files to your file host of choice, is via an FTP client. I'm not sure about other file hosts, but I do know that to upload to Filefactory via FTP, requires one to be premium with them, so be sure to check with your file host of choice, to be sure that you can use an FTP client or program to upload to them, and whether or not one has to have a premium account to do it, before trying. A good reliable FTP client, and one that I use quite often, is Mozilla's Filezilla : Filezilla FTP Client https://filezilla-project.org/ As far as the speeds you can expect when uploading, all I can do is give an estimate, by the speeds I myself get. After doing a speed test at Speakeasy, my upload speed comes in at .67 mps. I'm not real sure what that may translate into as kps, but I do know, that my average upload speed while using either Filezilla, or Zoom is always, within 1 or 2 kps, of 92 kps. Hope that any of this info helps you out Slippery. |

I'm a premium member at FF. I would expect it to take me about 5-10 minutes to upload 1.3 Gb, much quicker if I've broken the file down for simultaneous upload of parts.

It used to be good now it doesn't work, and I have used three different browsers and it refuses to download ANY file and takes an age to load the page as well-please consider banning members from using this host here, it is useless!!

Personally, I have posted substantial files there which have been downloaded by many hundreds of users. I can't imagine they are all premium account holders. I'm sorry you are having trouble accessing material, but the answer to your problem is probably either in this thread somewhere, or in your machine settings. If you want to actually upload there, (which was the subject of this particular thread) it's still probably best to use an FTP client like Filezilla. It certainly works for me.

I have reposted over 100 video clips that were originally hosted by megaupload and then mediafire so you don't have to tell me about reposting and investing a lot of time and energy in doing so. As you say I am entitled to my opinion and I think that filefactory is bloody awful-if you look through here I am not the only one complaining. However a ban might be a bit premature at the moment but unless filefactory do something about their site, there may not be much of a choice then to ban it from here-no use in posting and then not being able to download is there.

Please post us some links to the posts with the Filefactory links that are causing problems so that they can be checked. What happens when you try to download from them, do you get an error screen or does the screen stay the same and the download not start? What browser and addons do you use?
My own personal experiences with the host have been very good, I have lots of links with them here and so far I've not had any complaints from members who can't download them.

Pleasure:
http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...76#post2703376 Try these for starters What happens? Absolutely nothing, when I click on the first one or any link like that all I get is a blank screen, the loading circle spins around like a demented catherine wheel and then when it finally loads the webpage, it takes so long to do so I either give up OR on the occasion when I've waited, I click on the slow download link and nothing happens. If they work for you and others then either you are using a browser other than Firefox/Internet Explorer/Chrome OR I am just unlucky! I won't be losing any sleep over it though but I would be interested to know why it works for you lot and not me-the signal from my router is fine, I've checked my machine and run countless tests & diagnostics so it's nothing my end. All I know is that once they used to work and now they don't. Deposit Files, Rapidshare and even Rapidgator to name but three, work fine, yet filefactory doesn't.
