It's great fun to put the shit up people. just how religions try to recruit!

It hard to know where to start with such quasi-scientific gobbledy-gook but lets try to bring some sanity back.......

There is a risk of super volcano in yellowstone and it would be a big problem 45km across, with the problem of atmospheric disturbance that could cause temperature fluctuations but even at that size it's just the size of a bad boil on a global scale......

......Hence the Japanese earthquakes and tsunami are sad events but only a small dent on the islands in the big picture.

The New madrid Fault line is a developing rift and again tiny on global scale about 250 miles long south of St Louis.

Elenin is a comet. A biggie 5km ish and due to pass on a cosmic scale close to Earth......... i.e. 35 million km away!

Now if we were all on whatever St John the Divine was on when he wrote Revelations!!!!!!!!!!

So, Yellowstone is going to blow up, an extended version of the New Madrid Fault Line is going to go bang, the ocean floors are going to sink, islands are going to disappear, the sun's evil twin (which is actually a planet and has several names) is going to do something a bit untoward, and there will be wars, rumours of wars and a spot of the old earth-wobbling!

Right ... that's it! I'm writing to my local Council in the morning! I don't pay my Council Tax just to be vapourised, crushed, drowned, shot and wobbled about, all at the same time!

Wait! Wait! I saw this movie. Didn't they kill the Director of The Louvre to keep it a secret from us all? Didn't the super volcano in Yellowstone kill Woody Harrelson after he lost his job bartending at Cheers? Poor Woody, he was living in a Winnebego.

It's gonna be OK my brothers. Civilization will rise anew thanks to John Cusak & Amanda Peet's undying love for each other. Oh yeah, & the fact that they won't have a TV when they get to Africa.

I've watched and read almost every 2012 prophecy thing I could find. From galactic alignments and runaway planetoids to spiritual enlightenment and the return of Jesus. One thing for certain is that we are all going to die. Another thing certain is that our species, as we know it, will go extinct. We just don't know when or how.

Personally, I like the theory about the Mayan calender being sort of a schedule of human evolution. They suggest it marks important events in history such as the first language, the first writing, agriculture, the time of Jesus and so on. As time progresses these important events occur faster and closer together. Look at the last 50 years compared to the last 500 years before it.

My own thoughts on this are that we are ending one age and entering another. The age we are ending is the industrial age. Industry will continue of course but we have reached a point where there is little left to accomplish that we haven't already done. We know how to make virtually anything that can be made with industry.
The age we are entering has already begun. We hardly noticed. It started around 1890 with the invention of the radio. It continued on with television and telephones. It brought in computers and the internet and the ipods and all sorts of gadgets. As advanced as we think these devices are today, we are only getting started. These things will be smaller and more powerful exponentially. They will probably be implanted on a regular basis at some point so you won't have to carry them around in your pocket. Instant access to any data with just a thought.

The end of the age of man? The beginning of something else? Why not?

I think our ancestors will look back to this era of time and say what a pivotal and important time this is.

Not really. There is no ending in science; we just see the beginning of developing new medicine based on DNA findings and we practically know nothing about the internal workings of the brain nor about dark energy in space.

I mean there's no upper limit roof in science really. For instance, many would like to fly from Heathrow to JFK in 2h. Enough time to check yer emails as well as do some foruming at VEF. Know what I mean?

Obviously we're not there yet. However, if there is an ELE ahead of us like a huge comet hitting the planet or a lethal eruption at Yellowstone - well not much we can do about it then, can we?

At least the millions who are in debt will be saved, right?
