1 - No, the left only has Fox to worry about, the right has to worry about almost all other news organizations for being bent towards the left.

2 - No that sure as fuck doesn't justify attacks on civilians. You have a problem with our government's policies, attack our government or military. And that "meddling in their affairs" very much included supplying them weapons to keep themselves from being enslaved for all time by the Soviet Union in the Soviet/Afghan War.

3 - That shows we don't blindly support our allies, if one of them does something blatantly wrong or evil, we will stop them. And he stopped being our ally long before that. We didn't support him gassing Turkish villagers in the late 80s ether.

False, things he has to fear from a investigation...
1.) Being framed by the investigators.
2.) Former classmates who sympathize with Ford giving false testimony.
3.) Former classmates who hold grudges against you for other things giving false testimony.

He has made no such statements of willingness. His opinion piece questioning if a president can be prosecuted was back while Clinton was in office.

Bad policies -- and Trump is very reminiscent of a bad Latin American leader-- make countries poorer. Note in particular the Trump Administration's hostility to higher education-- human capital is where you get productivity growth from; the Chinese, the Singaporeans the Koreans all get that having a PhD means "yes, he does know more about it than you".

Embracing ignorance as a national policy will make us poor.
Thank you, ds. You said something very important, and you said it very well. Politics isn't entertainment; it's about fixing potholes. And when a real disaster comes along, we need a nerd who can lead. Doris Kearns-Goodwin recently wrote a book about that, called oddly enough, "Leadership".

Tyrants love compromised men. They don't trust honorable men . . . note Trump's problems with Mueller. Can't be bullied, bought or threatened, left no hostages to fortune, was a Marine in Vietnam while Trump suffered with bone spurs.

Trump no doubt loves the idea of Kavanaugh . . . the self pity and the misogyny suit him.

not a chance. It might be 5 -4, because John Roberts does seem to genuinely care about the authority and institutional integrity of the Court.

But Thomas, Kavanaugh -- not a chance they'll call one against "their team". Gorsuch is not so slimy as Kavanaugh, but very much cut from the same cloth ideologically. Alito is a harder call. A personally decent man of high character, much admired even by people who don't care for his jurisprudence.

Don't hold your breath. He lives on stress. Its his most interesting character attribute. He dials this stuff up, and does it to his advantage. He reminds me a lot of another Queens boy, John McEnroe. . . Mac used to throw these nasty hissy fits, embarassing as all hell, but you could see that he used them to juice himself, and to throw the always lurking Ivan Lendl off his game.

NBC News incorrectly reported (as usual) that I was limiting the FBI investigation of Judge Kavanaugh, and witnesses, only to certain people. Actually, I want them to interview whoever they deem appropriate, at their discretion. Please correct your reporting!

It's speculation that he is under a lot of stress. And wishful thinking.

This is a man who "works" 25 hours a week and spends the rest of the time sleeping, golfing, gouging on KFC and burgers and watching hours of Fox and CNN every day. Any kid working a summer job works harder than Trump. But that's a good thing, the less he is involved in the day to day operations of the government, the less opportunity he has to fuck everything up.

I don't buy this theory that he's miserable, there is no better position in the entire world for a malignant narcissist to live out his every desire and see it projected on the largest stage possible, than the Presidency of the United States. He is the most important person in the world by a wide margin, and will be etched in the history books forever. That's quite a feat for a man who went bankrupt selling gambling, football, booze and steaks to a nation that loves gambling, football, booze and steaks.

As an atheist I don't believe in divine intervention or karmic justice, so I fully expect Donald Trump to serve his term, never go to prison, never pay substancial financial damages, and to live out his life in luxury and everlasting fame until he peacefully dies in his sleep in bed with two hookers.

first I have to question who do you consider the left with a statement like that. the media is paid to demoralize the left while labeling the establishment the left in its place or more less to ship the Overton window further to the right

Well, there is his recent homoerotic outburst toward Kim Jong-Un. Too bad it is unrequited.

It is pretty clear that Judge Kavanaugh perjured himself in regards to his actions while serving in the Bush administration. I find it surprising that a lawyer would celebrate having such a person on the Supreme Court.

This has been scrubbed from her FB now.

We are in a strange place and time.
Excuse me, but I just clicked on your link, which has nothing to do with the allegations you have made about Dr. Ford. What's up with that? It is the kind of action that can completely erode my respect for your integrity.

She was drinking already at the age of 15, which can often be a precursor to adult alcoholism. It is not uncommon for victims of sexual assault to abuse drugs and alcohol and become promiscuous. Girls who drink to excess in high school and college are very much at risk for unwanted sex, diminished inhibitions, and exercising poor choices in partners.

Apparently a professor got through to her in college and she turned her life around. But note that this trauma has been a driving factor in her subsequent life and career choices. The perpetrators have no memory of it, which tells you a lot about the differences between male and female psychology. Her age is important, too. Girls go through major developmental changes in the ages 14 to 17, as their beleaguered mothers can attest.

I had occasion to volunteer to help out on a women's event in an activity that was usually handled by women. I had performed similar duties for related men's events. I had to beg off after a few hours. The female psyche is very different and disconcerting. My favorite sister told me, "It's really difficult to live when depending where your hormones are at, you might feel totally different from day to day." Or another woman stating about pregnancy, "You wake up one day in a totally different body."

These and other experiences have made me very grateful to be a man. Blue shirt and khaki Dockers and I am good to go most days a week.

But all the sturm und drang aside, it is Judge Kavanuagh's lies about his role in the Bush administration that disqualify him in my opinion. We can't really know what happened back then or who is telling the truth. But the reports from Georgetown and Yale seem to indicate that he was also less than honest about his drinking behavior.

My mom's side of the family is Irish Catholic with a fair amount of alcoholics in the bunch. I grew up in Catholic schools and church activities. Brett Kavanaugh looks like a drinking man to me. That does not disqualify him from the court, but lying and seeking to deceive the committee does.

Really, you need to get away from Fox News. Yes, MSNBC is left leaning. So are the Young Turks, Washington Post, and New York Times. The Wall Street Journal has a very conservative editorial bent, but the reporting is fair and accurate. Business people need accurate information. The Associated Press and Reuters go to great pains to present unbiased and accurate reporting. In fact, much of the nation's media is controlled by conservative organizations.

I urge you to do some quality research and hone your ability to critically evaluate information. You should also be aware that YouTube runs your viewing through algorithms and continues to suggest videos that will reinforce your viewpoints. It is not a good source of information as all sorts of nutjobs from across the spectrum are uploading videos. YouTube wants to keep you watching. So they will feed you whatever you feel comfortable with.

Truth has a disconcerting habit of making us feel uncomfortable or even upsetting or outraging us.
