The People vs Larry Flynt
I liked the film "The People vs Larry Flynt" but it was criticized by many for sanitizing Flynt's personal life and for not showing the more misogynist, racist and depictions of child molestation, i.e. Chester the Molester. Does anyone think that Hustler and Flynt should not have been sanitized and would that have improved the film?

I forget who said it first but it's even more relevant today. The first amendment was never needed to protect *popular* speech. Hustler pushed limits and in doing that gave those farther from the edge a greater margin of safety. While I believe the movie should have gone a little closer to reality I can understand their reluctance to do so.
