CLYDA ROSEN

Clyda Rosen, born Vietta Taff in Israel was a popular topless model and porn star in the 1970s London pornography scene, renowned for her large bust.
Clyda was discovered in the early seventies by Harrison Marks, who used her both as a glamour model in his photography and as an actress in his 8mm films which at the time were being filmed in both hard and soft core versions. Some of the films Marks made with Rosen include Autograph Hunter, in which Clyda plays a groupie who breaks into the home of rock star Randy Tool, and Dolly Mixture, a horror spoof in which Clyda plays the female creation of a Mad Doctor who indulges in mammary sex with the Doctor's Hunchback assistant. The most famous of the Marks/Rosen 8mm films was Die Lollos (a.k.a. The Customs, Strange Customs) in which Clyda attempts to smuggle pornography through British customs. For years it was rumored that John Cleese played the role of the customs inspector in it, however it was subsequently revealed to be a look-a-like. Die Lollos was also filmed in a black and white soft core version called Unaccustomed as I Am with a different actor playing the customs officer. A third version of the film "Duty Free" has a different actress playing the Clyda role.
In the mid-seventies Clyda dramatically reinvented herself, having a breast reduction operation as a result of a back complaint, cutting her hair short and billingherself as Vietta Manning. Her "Manning" era work includes the hardcore loops, Siebzehn Jahre, Massage Salon, Elvia and Marks' Tea and Crumpet plus her only feature film role in Sex Maniacs (1977) shot in cloak and dagger circumstances by Lasse Braun and an all British crew using pseudonyms.
Clyda continued performing in pornography in the 1990s appearing in the hardcore lesbian video Tit to Tit 3 (1991), Pregnant and Milking in the UK 2 (1994),Busty Sensations 9 (1992)and Hirsute Lovers (1991), a fetish tape in which Clyda seduces a woman with extensive body hair. In keeping with her age these videosfeature her in "older woman" mode however her remarkably well preserved look in the tapes is more closer to her original Clyda Rosen image than in the Vietta Manning period.
Now retired, she has one son.

Classic-fan asked me about the photo of Clyda on the cover of the Alpha Blue Archives (ABA) dvd titled Eurosleaze: Non Stop Spunker



The picture looks like it was taken at the same photo session as others in the collection of pics linked above, some of which appear to be the same actor and set used for the Tabu short Siebzehn Jahre and/or 17 Jahre.

Unfortunately, there are no clips on the ABA compilation from 17 Jahre or anything similar. I think that ABA just liked the photo -- there are other Tabu loops shown on the ABA cover that are not on the compilation.

As to whether there is a short titled 17 Jahre that is different than Siebzehn Jahre with footage of Clyda wearing that black bra: I doubt it. My guess is that the photos were taken around the same time that the Tabu loop was filmed, but she probably wore the bra for the photo session and not during the filming. Many of you have probably noticed that some CC films have corresponding mag stories with pics that were not part of the films -- the same is probably true in this case.
