Okay now this shows how inept people are and the city or twon I am going to tell you aobut in Austrailia is the little town that is out side of Perth called Northbridge..

Now I don't actually have anythingbad to say about this town, but since last month a number of calls have come into a certain Poliece Department that is located in of all places.. Northbridge.. Massaghusetts. right her ein the states..

It seems though we're to blame here and we're sorry .. want to know why? Because some damn Yankee up her ein teh states who works for Google has put the American Police department for Northbridge Massachusets on the top of the list.. so when you google it pon your smart phone.. guess what/ You speed dial 911. and get yep you guessed it. the Northbridge Massachusetts police staiton..

So do us all a favor.. if you'rre gong to make a call to the cops or the fire department.. Think with your brain and make sure you put the word Austrailia in it okay?

I haven't tested it myself but dialling 911 in Australia seems to get one nothing at all, according to here.

I'm not even sure if dialling 0011-1-911 from within Oz would get the US emergency folk, would it? No: best not try it.

Some countries seem to have successfully mapped additional common emergency numbers to their core emergency number.
