For a while, it worked like a charm using Microsoft Edge.

Not now.

Oh, this just gets worse doesn't it?
However i will continue to upload to 1fichier for reasons previously discussed,
and just hope enough people can get around the restrictions and grab ny files.

Just downloaded a file as a free user with Edge. 4 MB/s download, 2 popunders that I closed afterwards.

It's not the browser.

Can we assume you tried one of the download managers recommended by 1ficher (front page) and that didn't help at all?

Even as premium user one can have problems, I tried a 1fichier download today, logged in as premium user, it said 'page not found' multiple times, when I tried hours later it was working again. Must have been server overload.

Dude, there's literally dozens of posts in thread here, describing similar problems and offering many solutions. You might wanna take some time and effort to check those out first, before posting an immediate complaint like 'garbage file host'.

The best solution at the moment (at least the one that works for sure): use Opera for downloading from 1fichier. There's also a portable version.

If you have premium on 1fichier i'd suggest to not use download menu , just disable it then you can open your files on internet download manager so you can get 10mb/s speeds .
So my suggestion here is : using 1fichier premium+ no download menu+ internet d. manager combination.

Could it depend on location? I'm in Netherlands and get a full 10-12MB/s off 1fichier on my 100Mbit fiber connection just through regular browser download.
