Thing that has puzzled me for some time though is that I cannot recollect ever seeing her in a 'duo' set....which has kept me guessing as to who it might be that is sitting in the chair at the right side of the photo ignoring the proceedings..or perhaps adjusting her lingerie?

I just love this set of Cherry. One has to admire the photographer for keeping a steady hand! Lovely lace pants too! Nick

I know we've talked about this before chaps, but I really feel the 1950s to the mid 1960s was the golden age of women's underwear. Sadly, with the introduction of the mini skirt all that lovely lace seemed to disappear and pants became smaller. Pity! Nick

I am working on tidying up these sets along lines to those I have already re-posted. (All thanks to original posters and fans of great girls!) I see these poses however, as belonging to two separate sessions. One seems themed around Cherry's attempts to decorate and somehow managing to reveal her suspenders every time. The other set has her in a frock - almost. Post these soon. Many thanks to one and all.

I often wonder how many sessions the Toco regular photographers did with each of their models or groups. Everything Ken Howard did with Nicola and Marie, for example, might have been over just a few days or weeks; likewise for the earlier work by Scotlee. Nick

Interesting point! In KH's case, you can see the girls changing (hairstyles, getting older, fashion etc).

The most obvious Toco model where this happens is Susan Douglas, who looks like she's been photographed over close to a decade. She starts out a typical late 50's girl all pettycoates beehives and the rest andfinishes off (around 1967, I'd say)as a Swinging 60's dollybird. Very different and much more appealing to me!

I totally agree, Medium2 and, I suspect that some girls would have worked on a regular basis, whilst others did only a few sessions or even just the one. Ken probably would have had just a few sessions with Marilyn Ward, for example, before her Miss World venture. Nick

My reckoning is that Scotlee was the main supplier from the late Fifties to the mid-Sixties, when they mysteriously appeared to stop. The earlier lasses were the likes of Jane McKay, Janet Neill, Vicki Campbell, Sara Scott, Jackie Leyton, Diane McCall, Janette Goodman and Mary Graham to name but a few, while the later intake included Anne Scott, Ruth Cavendish, Jane Paul, Ros Stuart, Helen Milligan, Pamela Johnston, among notable others. It doesn't appear their "careers" overlapped in any way so the girls were probably doing two or three years at the very most. As I have suggested before, Ken Howard seemed to take over from Scotlee around about 1966/67, with Nicola Taylor possibly his first model. There are some sets of a youngish looking Nicola out there, but she seemed to mature during the course of her Spick and Span heyday, so she could have been around for four or even five years. But the others (Marie Graham, Laura St John, Eve Law, Marilyn Ward) probably did half-a-dozen shoots top whack between 68 and 70. Certainly there doesn't seem much from Ken as the mags went on the slide in the Seventies. As for Susan Douglas, I agree. But I seem to recall someone once saying she worked as a secretary at Town and Country as well as producing some delightful pics.
