Thanks for this thread and Mediafire
I just wanted to say a big thank you for switching to mediafire for downloads. I appreciate this as I'm sure do those who are based in countries where zippyshare is banned. Someone on here mentioned using Tor for downloads. As things currently stand I am unable to download Tor updates and so do not feel happy using an out-of-date version of Tor to download.
This thread for me is excellent. My two passions are vintage erotic art and vintage erotic literature. I had quite a decent collection of both which was destroyed intentionally in 2005 (not by me I have to add) so I am rebuilding slowly through this and other sites. To give something back I shall soon be posting my listings of artists and the alternative names some used. It has been a source of both annoyance and amusement to me. Deepsepia posted something similar a while back which were from a third party but they were mainly comic artists (not that I have a problem with that) and at least one was incorrect so I didn't bother going through the full list. I hope my post when it comes may help or just be of interest but it's the least I can do for the help I have received here. Thanks again. |

There was a ton of French material, the reference for it is:
Jean Pierre Dutel's Bibliographie des Ouvrages Érotiques. Publiés clandestinement en français -- there are three volumes, one from 1650 to 1880, one from 1880 to 1920, the last from 1920 to 1970 No digital version online that I know of, but still looking . . . He started a bookstore, the Libraire Dutel, which specializes in rare erotica, worth a browse Code:

Summer Frolics by Martin Pyx
The first half of this book concerns the misadventures of the British Juliana Bisque-Hardy and her American friend Lucretia Sue Merydith in an unnamed middle eastern country, where they are subjected to long bouts of corporal punishment and sadistic games by the authorities for their transgressions against the government. Lucretia's encounter with a tireless eunuch stands out among the endless whippings. The second half switches to several members of the Sigma XI sorority, of which Lucretia is some kind of matron. But in between there is a very long lecture on paganism and ancient gods, that seems to come out of nowhere, as well as a drug fueled, hallucinatory bout of sex between two of the professors that took me completely by surprise. Usually with cp themed books, you know what your getting, but I was pleasantly taken aback by these bizarre interludes among all the lashing and whipping. Good show Mr. Pyx, whoever you may be! There is a preface to the book wherein Pyx lays out his admiration for P.N. Dedeaux, and mentions a couple of his works, one of which in incorrectly titled. This is fascinating as many people have guessed that Pyx was actually Geoffrey Atheling Wagner, the author behind the Dedeaux pseudonym, but this has never been confirmed. The book ends stating that it was Volume 1 of the Sigma Cycle, which is odd considering it was the second one to be published, Autumn Scandals preceded it by a year. Highly recommended for fans of cp lit and smutty historians! |

As you'll note from the copyright date (2004), this appears to be a contemporary publication, artfully and satirically simulating a mid century style. The sexual descriptions seem a little anachronistic for 1961-62 I've never seen an "original" copy of any of the Roger Benson material for sale, and I think the original probably was the mid-2000s online version.
