There is no contradiction there. Vintage stuff might get rereleased. So if any content owner contacts VEF it is in the interest of the members and of the board to handle those issues. I don't see VEF as a piracy board - although there is piracy on VEF. In general VEF is pro the industry, IMO.

There are a good reasons to keep everything private. But VEF also wants also find new members that might eventually contribute. The public sections serve as a teaser, as I understand it.

There are also other issues like sites that mirror VEF and monetize it with ads. Keeping some sections private can't prevent this problem in general, but it might help that this problem won't get out of hand.

But I don't know - I'm no admin or the VEF owner. The politics just sound reasonable to me. VEF isn't just a download portal. There is also the community part (which I'm no part of). And I assume that people here actually do buy stuff, because of the informations they get here.

I understand so you think vintage movies are not so important for dmca notices, right? and can be re released?

Hello bkemadu, and welcome to the forum.

I think it's partly to encourage people to join, and partly to reward members for contributing to the discussion forums and to contribute pictures and videos etc.

eg.

1) Some sections are available to anyone, including non-members. This is in hope that they'll want to join and see the things that only members can see.

2) Some members don't really like putting pictures and videos on here which non-members can see and download, and some don't like doing that even for members who themselves don't contribute anything.

3) You may notice that only members who have received a certain number of 'Thanks' for their posts from other members, can post requests to have models and actresses whom they don't know the name of, to be Identified by other members.

All this is to encourage people to join and to encourage the new members to post pictures and videos and to take part in the discussion threads.

It's nothing more than that.
