Unfortunately my mother was a chronic alcoholic, and I inherited same (ie I'm extremely weak-willed), so I can't drink at all - I'm happy drunk or I'm happy sober, I'm not happy in between. It's been nearly two years since I had a drink, thank you Jeebus. So I'll have a glass of milk, ta.
I had the same problem with tobacco, I haven't smoked cigarettes in nearly ten years, although I did go through a period of about a year smoking cigars, and I'm sorely tempted again. My wife doesn't drink or smoke, and she tells me I should meditate to deal with stress. I can't do that, but I thought I'd like to smoke cigars instead - ya know, have a ritual, keep a humidor of a few quality stogies, and sit in the garden and spark one when I need to relieve stress. It sounds great in theory, but I'm just worried that if I start doing that, I'll 'waken the beast' once more. But life is dull without a little indulgence, no? |

You will. I've quit smoking a year and a half ago. Quitting is something I did before but this time it's really for good. There was a time when I thought a cigar couldn't do any harm but believe me, I always backslid. It's different for non-smokers who like to enjoy an occasional cigar but stay away from it if you were a (heavy) smoker like me.

What about using a pipe ?. To smoke tobacco I mean. In case you were thinking I meant crack. It`s much gentler on the lungs , you look refined and can buy premium top quality ready rubbed nowadays. There`s even an organic peach and cherry flavoured one available ... Ahem ... So I hear I can't drink spirits as after a half dozen shots have the tendency to believe I can sing and dance extremely well. When in truth I sing like somebody without vocal cords and dance like a knee capped Tiny Tim. Currently glugging the icy cold usual Once my posts begin making sense to me I stop. As realise I've probably had enough

Once upon a time I was the same then realized I had no inspiration to keep getting up and walking to the frig over and over again. Problem solved ... The 5L mini keg ... just set it beside the PC for hour(s) of simple convenience Besides, the 6th or 7th trip start to become hazardous to not only myself but to my dwelling

Feeling a little bit rough tonight...dunno why. Anyhow a few of these should help me feel better. Irish is the best Whiskey in my opinion (even though i have Scottish heritage, as small as it is)
