Detour (1945)
Trailer Frustrated nightclub pianist Al Roberts (Tom Neal) becomes even more depressed when his girlfriend Sue Harvey (Claudia Drake) leaves for Hollywood to become a star. After a while Roberts decides to follow his girlfriend, but with little money in his pockets, he's forced to hitchhike his way from New York to California. In Arizona, he catches a ride with Charles Haskell, Jr. (Edmund MacDonald) who's on his way to Los Angeles as well. But soon, Roberts would wish he'd continued on foot. A dark, slashing noir, shot in six days for peanuts. It's just over an hour long but the nightmare the main character goes through seems like eternity. We have a thread here that's dedicated to bad girls in films. The character portrayed by the actress Ann Savage deserves to be in the top 10. Boy, she really is savage. |

Ready Player One (2018)
Ready Player One (2018)
A 30 something review I didnt go out and see this, nor did I stream/downloaded it from somewhere, it was freebie onboard a flight I took recently. Anyhow, this is clearly aimed at anyone who has indulged in alot of movie/animation/gaming entertainment in their lives at some point or another, giving a lot of kudos to mentions of this or that character and a lot of movie dialogue/quotes. Having the Spielberg name attached to this was the main draw...not to mention Rush's Tom Sawyer track in the teasers but I digress. I initially went in thinking it was a interesting and overly ambitious premise but soon discovered it was a load of over indulgent crap. I want my quarter back rating 2/10 |

I've waited a long time for this to be released in the UK
The Houses October Built 2 (2017) aka The Blue Skeleton https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7068818/ A sequel to the excellent and creepy 2014 movie The Houses October Built where a team of five documentary makers visited several Halloween themed houses in the run up to October 31, it ended with the five apparently being slain by the skull masked strangers. This film opens with Brandy being found alive in the boot of a car, she starts to get her life together and is not overly happy when the other four who had also survived try to get her to join them again to get increased publicity for their film, the only spoiler I will make is that she agrees to join them with a caveat that they stay away from any extreme haunts. It's a great advert for the varied horror houses all around the states the ending is weird to say the least and there is the door left wide open for a third film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCPFT-3tbpw

No one wants to make a decent Predator sequel worthy of the 1987 original.
So there was only one thing left for me to do. I went back and watched the 1987 original again for the umpteenth time. Each viewing is as good [or better] as the very first viewing in the theater in 1987 and it's always a renewed pleasure. 5/5 |

The first time I saw this film in '87, it blew away my expectations and has become one of my fav action films. The 2nd one with Danny Glover had potential but was a waste and dont get me started on the other garbage they tried to peddle....yes, including the latest one. The original was perfect and had all the ingredients. Refreshing rewind review rating 9/10 |

FINALLY watched Logan. It was really good, but I think all the hype kind of ruined it for me. I expected something that would transcend the superhero genre, but it was just a really good superhero movie.
