Judge Rejects Trump’s Request To Dismiss Lawsuit Against Trump Foundation

New York AG: “The Trump Foundation functioned as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s business and political interests,” “There are rules that govern private foundations, and we intend to enforce them — no matter who runs the foundation.”

Lawsuit alleges:

- using the charity’s funds to finance Trump’s political campaign
- for the benefit of Trump’s for-profit businesses

Most President's hair turns grey because of the stress of the job I wonder if Trump's won't turn grey because of the stress over all of the investigations into him.

He is going to have so much crap coming his way next year....

I'd highly recommend not just to you but others who are shall I say, 'less than enchanted with President Trump' to read Michael Lewis new, well relatively new book, The Fifth Choice.

Lewis started out by wanting to examine ALL of the cabinet departments and what they really do, and how they function under Trump, but once he got started he understood this would literally be impossible unless he spent the rest of his life on it, so he chose to focus on a just one or two and how Trump's election has screwed them and the US over.

It isn't a long book, in fact I was a bit disappointed that it kind of petered out at the end, but still worth your time.

So this may have gotten lost amongst the ENDLESS tsunami of atrocities that is the Trump presidency, but Trump is now fighting via Twitter of course with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Roberts.

It started when Trump denounced a judge who rejected his asylum policy as "an Obama judge," because of course he did.

Roberts responded saying "we do not have Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges... an independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for."

Trump's response was, "Sorry Chief Justice Roberts, but you do indeed have 'Obama judges' (who actually work at the same building that you do!!*) and they have a much different point of view than the people who are charged with the safety of our country."

*I made up the part in parenthesis but you know Trump was dying to include something like that.

Of course Trump is barfing out of his butthole again on this one as the Secretary of Defense has pushed back very hard against Trumps calling for lethal force to be used on the migrants by the US troops who have been deployed to the border.

So the Trump administration tried a Friday news dump, which is when someone, (the government/sports teams/politicians/spouse/boyfriend/etc) throws something out there at the start of the weekend hoping that it will not get noticed as EVERYONE is headed out thinkin' 'bout gettin' drunk/high/laid/beating the fuck out of someone just 'cause, but it didn't quite work.

13 different federal agencies released a report which states that "the starkest warnings to date of the consequences of climate change for the United States." In the worst case scenario, climate change could cost the economy hundreds of billions of dollars leading to a loss of more than 10% of GDP by the end of the century.

It will also lead to more premature deaths, particularly in the Midwest, which is expected to experience the steepest increase in extreme temperatures. Which of course just happens to be "The World's Breadbasket."

Oh yeah, Trump actually said of the wildfires out in California, "Well, it's a great, it's a big, great fire. So very big."

What would actually happen if Mr Trump were to be convicted on criminal charges, for example breaches of campaign funding laws in the 2016 election cycle via the Trump Foundation and other activities inconsistent with charitable status have been alleged, and he were to be still in office? The US constitution explicitly forbids any doctrine of presidential immunity.

Quote:
Article II, section 4, U.S. Constitution -
The President, Vice President and civil officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
The impeachment process requires two thirds of the US Senate as a body to vote for impeachment and the way things are now, Mr Trump would survive an impeachment vote there if there was video footage of him personally sacrificing babies to Satan by the light of black candles. Most of the Republican senators would probably feel offended and left out because they weren't invited to take part in the ritual.

But if the president is convicted in a court in the USA of criminal actions such as serious financial misconduct - and basically the misuse of a charity's funds is red blooded fraud - then what? Can he be arrested and made to govern America from a cell in Sing Sing? I imagine that if he is still the Chief Executive the prison authorities would have to provide internet facilities and office space in the next door cell.

In the state cases; he could lose a lot of money; which for Trump would be going to prison.

Let's not forget there's also the tax cheating case in New York, that the Times exposed (think it was the Times); He dodged 500 million in taxes. New York can still get that money back, just not financial criminal penalties.

Also when Trump is not President anymore do you think the Saudi's or anyone else is going to give a rat's ass about him. He is powerful as long as he is President. He will be toxic afterwards.

And best of all he could be irrefutably exposed as a liar.

I would also bet there are things we don't even know about yet.

The thing that keeps popping up now and then is the question of whether or not a sitting ie the current President can be indicted while in office. Conservatives and Republicans of course are screeching, "NO!!!!!," while most, but not all Democrats and liberals are shrieking, "FUCK AND YES!!!"

It's a question that would likely end up at the Supreme Court, but it should be noted that while he was campaigning Trump repeatedly bragged that, "I could stand out in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and nothing would happen to me." This was BEFORE he was even the Republican nominee.

Many republicans and conservatives are arguing that the President, or rather Trump can literally do ANYTHING, break any and every law on the books and face no consequences or legal trouble because he is the Chief Executive and could claim executive privilege. Democrats and liberals DO NOT agree with this line of reasoning, such as it is.

But really you are talking about two different things. The President can only be impeached for 'high crimes and misdemeanors,' which could literally mean ANYTHING.

So it turns out that the valedictorian of my high school class, a guy named Gordon Hartogensis, who lived less than 5 minutes away from me growing up has been nominated by the Trump administration to be Director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, which essentially helps to manage certain private pension plans and has been doing a not so great job at it, so naturally rather than get someone who actually has experience with pensions the person the pick's only experience with this kind of thing is being the trustee of the Hartogensis Family Trust.

Oh yeah, he also just happens to be Mitch McConnell's brother in law.
No nepotism there, no sirree bob.

Christ.

What makes it even worse is that other members of my high school class have been going on and on about how awesome this is and great it is that Trump picked someone from

Actually, looking back at what was in my yearbooks and what happened to me when I wrote an oped for the school paper, of course i can believe it, it's just, I don't know kind of sad to realize that my high school is situated in one of the richest and most liberal zip codes/counties/areas of the entire country and so many of my classmates turned out to be so conservative.

I really don't get it.

I really don't get it.
Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao said, "Secretary Acosta made the selection and hired him, and I think he's an excellent choice." She then joked, "I don't think anybody's relations or relatives should be held against them — certainly not me."

Yeah - sure - meanwhile I know people more than qualified for jobs that cannot be hired as a relative works in an associated agency. Seems that noise isn't the swamp draining but filling.

Look at the bright side Lutz, Lewis Black went to one of the schools in our county and he's calling it for what it is.
