If you are interested in gay history, I can recommend the Swiss film The Circle ("Der Kreis") from 2014, that also won a Teddy Award in Berlin. It is a film about the romance between Erst Ostertag, a shy teacher, and Röbi Rapp, a hair dresser and travesty artist, in Zurich in the 1950s. Zurich was some kind of a Mekka for gays and the magazine Der Kreis was distributed in the whole of Europe. But on the other hand homosexuality was illegal and especially Ostertag had to lead a double life.
But in 2003 they became the first gay couple to marry in Zurich. The real Ostertag and Rapp are also shown in the film. On the last picture they are shown with the handsome young actors who played them. I think this is sweet!
