Jodie is great. The young companions are being overshadowed by Bradley Walsh.
There is some exciting moments but this is not great WHO. It is still a good show but it ain’t what it was. Yeah, the preachy, PC moments are becoming a core of the new run. Slows the momentum of a lot of the drama. |

Graham doesn't really gel with the crew. There is a tension that I feel from Ryan: crap I on this journey with my Stepdad; and all the stepdad issues; too much psycho crap there.
We didn't feel that tension with Rory's dad, he gelled. He was as much a kid as Rory. He was fun and light: Dinosaurs on a spaceship (don't really remember the cubes ep that well, not a favorite ep.) I have kind of imagined/hoped that Graham won't see the end of the season; sorry but I hope he goes somehow, someway. |

I just checked my DVR as it is set to record Who weekly. Last week it started recording Who at 7:55. I thought that was odd but thought maybe this was a European thing that had been imported. (I have noticed the BBC starts shows at the oddest hours in the past (6:45 etc); don't know if that is still the case?)
Anyway, I am in the US (BBC America), is it just my cable provider that is starting taping the show 5 minutes early? Why is it doing this? Last week the show didn't start until 8 but Tv Guide says it starts at 7:55 and that is what the DVR goes by. I am hesitant to adjust the time as I might miss something. Also the description of this weeks show appears to be free of the last two weeks of PC/ bs. |

I want to watch this season of Dr. Who but I can't seem to get into it. That first episode just felt so long and dragged out.

i always wondered how the shows ratings are figured out , i.e: how much time does the show have to be seen/recorded to be counted as a viewing figure?
and if it still preceeds strictly , which is a much higher viewed program , how many strictly viewers catching the end of doctor who while waiting for strictly to start are potentially affecting doctor whos viewing figures? |

You can find the specifics but here is what I have in my memory: Nielsen has overnight ratings that you can get the next day for Who and other shows. Then they have an adjusted ratings and the ratings get bumped up or down. I think they use +1 ratings when they calculate these. The +1 means people that have watched the show live and on DVR within the first 24 hours. I think though for viewing to count towards ratings it has to be watched on DVR within 3 days. My bank teller loves Who, I found this out because she has a little blue Tardis on her window and we starting talking about who. I keep asking her what she thinks of the new season, Whitaker and she can't tell me because she binge watches many episodes. I told her Nielsen ratings hate her because Who does not get credited for those that watch that far after the original airing. I think you are asking if you have to watch the entire 1 hour of the show though for it to count; I don't know. I can only tell you what I do know. How much of a dork am I????? Who is not doing well. I believe it premiered around 8.5 million and has been steadily declining with it now down at like 6.5; not good, not good at all!! Google: tvbythenumbers zap2it nielsen ratings |

The numbers I gave are actually for BBC England and possible Europe as well.
Here is what zap2it said about the premiere: "It was another story for the season 11 premiere of “Doctor Who,” which notably featured the introduction of Jodie Whitaker as the first ever female iteration of The Doctor. The season premiere, which aired at 1:45 p.m. ET on BBC America as part of a simulcast with the BBC’s airing of it in the U.K., scored a 0.5 rating with 1.37 million viewers – up two-tenths and 48% in total viewers from its season 10 premiere last year." Here are the numbers for BBC America: ep 1 1.37 million ep 2 1.12 ep 3 .8 ep 4 .9 ep 5 .66 ep 6 .7 |
