One major downside of Oz's great win was listening to SKW as commentator gloating.

Yep. Our commentators seem very bias compared to others from around the world.

I wonder if bp realises that 'tosser' has a slightly derogatory meaning in Britain?

I used quick reply which doesn't have smilies. Warnie was a great cricketer, a great cricketing brain, and I'm very happy he played for us, but he was and is a major tosser. |

Still reeling from the shock of the first Aussie win in India in a long, long time. That the victory was to the tune of 333 runs is the cream of an incredibly delicious cake.

Australia's spin bowling seems to have grown stronger lately. Steve O'Keefe bowled extremely well. But India must be feeling pretty disappointed in her batsmen, who showed little fight and collapsed rather ignominiously. England posted totals well north of 400 runs several times in the India series just gone and found that the England spin bowlers could not defend 450 plus runs and conceded lethal first innings deficits. Australia have just de-bunked a lot of special pleading about Indian conditions and proven that England were beaten because their bowlers were simply not good enough.
Come the summer, England will need to raise their game one hell of a lot to compete with this Australia side.

I think that wicket was prepared for Derek Underwood.
I think I could have spun the ball on that wicket. Yes England's spinners did not do well in India but didn't play on a wicket like that. I think England will be able to compete against Aust unless they "drop-in" some very unusual pitches. O'Keefe I hadn't heard of before, apart from Kerry, and "Garry" has been around for years without being a regular. Are they suddenly world-beaters? Remember one swallow.... |

Good form in India wont mean much when facing Anderson & Broad
beyond team spirit. Most likely will come down to how well Starc & Hazelwood use the Duke ball - which their now using in the Sheffield Shield not how good our spinner / spinners is/are. India were complacent imho having thumped Australia 4-0 last time around The bowlers were waiting for the collapse and the batsmen far too comfortable. 20 tests unbeaten at home can take the edge of anyone. As Australia showed recently going down to South Africa 2-0 with no fight before a consolation day / night test win The conditons were the same for both sides This is as big an upset as Leicester winning the EPL Before the test series there were question marks over the 3 of the 4 grounds all getting their first test match http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-02-1...series/8275146 |
