Video editing software?
Hi all,
Any suggestions for a video editing program I'm kinda playing around with some vids, altering the brightness/contrast/white balance etc to bring out stuff, or edit out/crop out the boring non-nude stuff in a clip. Any suggestions? I had been using Wondershare Filmora but don't care for the V12, especially since they 86'd V11 and won't let me downgrade back to it after paying to upgrade to V12. TIA |

A bit old school but I still like Virtualdub which has lots of flexibility, and some inflexibility due to its age.
I do not like Virtualdub2 which although decreasing the inflexible bits has a tendency to crash far too often for my liking Virtualdub 1.10.4 (c) Avery Lee Virtualdub 2, doesn't say who upgraded it but if you dig you get the username shekhijkl

VSDC editor. It is what I use to artificially brighten dark scenes (via adjustments, auto gamma). Avidemux should also be considered as a more basic free video editor.

I use VideoPad. Very easy to use. I have zero editing skills and still manage to get a few things done..

Avidemux (I mostly use it for frame-accurate cutting of intercut scenes of practically every video in existance, no matter the codec or the key frame rate). The software also has some easy-to-use filters, like asharp to sharpen videos to make them look pristine or almost DVD-like, the same way as an expensive VHS video recorder/player did back in time. Don't expect wonders, though.
Hybrid (to get every option you could ever think of in case of state-of-art video processing). It's not as easy to use, but not impossible, even for a beginner who just tries this or that. Both are free Windows programs, and I'm using them just for my private pleasure. Hope this is of use for you. Cheers, plasmus |

I use SMMVSplitter to edit my videos. I would be also glad to hear how to crop a black bar from a video.

Pegasys Tsunami (aka TMPGEnc) Video Mastering Works 5
I have been using it...and it's predecessors...for nearly 20 years. While the learning curve for the beginner is rather steep, it does offer an incredible range of manual manipulations for both the video and audio with a focus on being able to see exactly what you are doing...before you do it. |
