A Bridge Too Far Theme
Nice subject matter, so many war movies with great music!! I love to just sit back with a tall beer, steak and cake. And watch movies after movies of war.
Here one of my favorites A Bridge Too Far... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWBoMWZJkeI

Battle of Britain theme.
Difficult to find a score without bluster, but I do like this airshow film. The plane is a later version with 20mm cannon, not around in 1940. Look what it can do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBlnFQ-79-4

Some great choices in this thread- most of the real classics you'd expect to see mentioned seem to be there- I agree with George Anson about Doldinger's music for Das Boot- that soundtrack is just so damn atmospheric

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuc53jXvklM Talking of John Barry, this is for me a much-underappreciated piece of his work- the soundtrack for the 2001 Bletchley Park codebreakers drama Enigma. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH530iF0qc4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zCMNGp2puQ Was there ever a duff John Barry film theme? I'm certainly struggling to think of one. |
