Battle of Britain theme.

Difficult to find a score without bluster, but I do like this airshow film. The plane is a later version with 20mm cannon, not around in 1940.

Some great choices in this thread- most of the real classics you'd expect to see mentioned seem to be there- I agree with George Anson about Doldinger's music for Das Boot- that soundtrack is just so damn atmospheric

Those first couple of minutes of Zulu, it's not just one of the great pieces of war film theme music, but one of the great openings of any war film ever- Richard Burton's voice as the narrator, the camera sweeping across the scene of devastation at Isandhlwana and then John Barry's music kicks in...Every element of it is just right on the money.
