There's an Atlantic equivalent called TTIP.
Both NZ's two "main" political parties (National & Labour) have been vocal in support of TPP, led by Tim Groser who is the current minister in charge of the negotiations. Generally though all very "hush, hush" & "trust us". The Greens & to a lesser extent the Maori Party have been expressing some opposition. As an issue it hasn't gained any real "traction", but one can't help wondering to what extent that's due to a relative lack of media interest in it--no, I'm not suggesting any deep conspiracy theories, perhaps just shallowness. |
