Only 10% of the total land mass in Australia is habitable so it would probably be a waste to build a mag-lev train. The minimum cost of such a project would be in the billions of dollars and Australia has better need of that money for more lucrative enterprises!

We actually do, we're quite prolific travellers, but most of us are not transient in terms of where we live. Our parents tend to keep the family home well into old age and many of us live all our lives in the first or second house we buy. Or we did back when we could afford to buy a house.

Kevin here. As you can see Estreeter's avatar is that of a younger Bruce Springsteen. One of the possible reason's for this is that Estreeter when he was younger may have had dreams of being a singer. I can just see Estreeter singing his heart out in his own back yard, when suddenly a bunch of roos, bilbies, kookaburras and snakes appear out of the bush beguiled by the sound coming from Estreeter's throat. Then the kookaburra starts making that loud kooky laughing sound. Then the neighbors call the police!

Some Australian wildlife are perfect mimics--they can replicate the sound of chainsaws, camera shutters, etc.

Kookaburra's are awesome. There's a family of them around where I live.

You could have provided a real kookaburra singing on youtube.com. Here is the link:

Just finished watching golf from Perth.

Apart from the golf we were treated to boxing matches between kangaroos on the fairway.
Earlier this week they showed Lee Westwood and Andrew "beef" Johnson visiting Rottnest island. Cycling around the place, swimming, taking "selfies" with quokkas, koalas and other wildlife.
The most spectacular thing on there I thought though was Talbot Bay from the air.

We've got fruit bats and also some sort of mouse-sized bat come into our fruit trees around twilight. I never realised they could fly so fast.
