Billy Bunter's right, there is a similar thread on here about your mum finding your porn. As I've mentioned there she wasn't happy at all when I was younger and busted my stash a couple of times. By the time I was 16 though she was quite relaxed about it, even giving me a copy of Club that a plumber had left in out bathroom when we were having some work done.

On one occasion, by now in my early twenties, I came home from the pub one night half cut and saw that mum's bedroom light was still on so knocked on her door and went in to give her a kiss goodnight. I cheekily asked her (remember I was half pissed) if the old man had mags he'd finished with (he was working nights), she jumped out of bed and pulled four copies of Men Only from underneath it and started to flick through them to see if they'd finished with them. Whilst doing this a spread of Shanine Linton appeared (my all time favourite girl) and my mum said, "She's a pretty girl". I thought bloody hell mum your not wrong!

It's a strange experience to look at porn with your mother there, especially when you both know what you'll be geting up to as soon as you've closed your bedroom door...

Now that's pretty liberal! Yes, when I was 18/19 my mum accepted the fact that I looked at mags, and was OK about it when she caught me 'in posession', but I know I'd have been in a world of trouble if I'd had that conversation with her...

My parents were always quite contradictory about things like that- A few years later, I remember her being very pissed off when she found out my brother was sleeping with his girlfriend (at the age of 19), and yet she'd been tolerant of me having a porn stash- she didn't even confiscate them, just warned me not to let my younger brother (15 or so at the time) get his hands on them.

As I said in the 'did your mum find your mags' thread, I got a major telling-off from my dad when he caught me out for having a couple of mags I'd accidentally found while snooping around in their room trying to find out what they'd got me for Christmas or my birthday when I was about 14.
He told me they were amongst some old paperwork from when they'd cleared an uncle's house after he died a few years before, and they'd forgotten to bin them.

Naive as I was at that age, it didn't occur to me until much later that I'd found them in my mum's wardrobe, hidden away under some lacy underwear, and that what I'd found must have been my parents' porn collection!

I have already posted to the other thread, but the very idea that my mother might have been happy to let me look at porn can only be described as laughable. She was - and still is, bless her - the sort of woman who'd see a scantily-clad girl on TV and start muttering under her breath. She flew into a rage, for example, when she found an album of Page 3 clippings I had made - confiscating what had amounted to a fine selection made over some four years.

The very thought of "discussing" porn with my Mum... Brr.

An old friend from college once told me about calling round to see one of his schoolmates. His mate's mum answered the door and let him in, and shouted upstairs to her son. I suppose my parents generation were brought up to believe that being gay was wrong, a crime, which it was until the 60's. So finding out your son liked girls was probably a relieve for them. Today's parents must have a hard task with the Internet. My parents were never anti-gay. They were very liberal in sexual matters, which was very unusual in Ireland. We were not a religious family, because in Ireland religion and politics go hand in hand. My Dad had mags, so they were realistic and and knew I would acquire a few. I went to an all boys school and we traded/swaped lent/borrowed mags all ther time. Just top shelf stuff. No hardcore. That was like gold dust.

I was the embarrassed one! Mom didn't care. She was post-sexual revolution. Guys like to look at naked women. It's natural and healthy. My old man had his stash. He had nothing hardcore or bizarre, just your newsstand variety skin mags.

Neither of them cared if I looked at Dad's porn. The funny thing was I still sneaked because I felt like I should sneak and my folks shouldn't be so permissive. In other words, they knew I knew they knew I looked at porn...and I was bashful about it. They found my shyness amusing, which was the unhealthy part, ironically.

Later in my teens I acquired skin mags/videos by hook or by crook. I still kept them hidden. My mom would have bought them for me if I'd asked but would you ask your mother to buy porn for you? Probably not!

She told me later she found my skin bin. I think I told this story on that other thread. Her friends were convinced I was gay because I dressed goth (we didn't call it that in the '80s) and liked New Order and The Smiths. Thus, I think she was relieved when she found my hetero-porn. Neither she nor I had anything against gays, but if I was gay, it would have made an already difficult life even more difficult! My friend came out as gay in high school and he was persecuted by the homophobes.

My mother was probably rummaging through my room to make sure I wasn't hiding drugs. Apparently, I hid my little mj stash well!


If I had kids, I wouldn't want them looking at porn because today's porn is much more hardcore than anything I had access to. It gives horribly misogynistic messages. Well, H*stl*r always did and I saw plenty of that one. I thought the cartoons were garbage, but I couldn't get enough of those split beaver shots in Uncle Larry's mag!

Oddly, me and my brother once convinced our mum to rent us out a (softcore) big boob video when we were both under 14, it was one of those 18-rated big tit videos starring Donna Collins and Karen Wing.

Also, I got her to buy me the first issue of a magazine called 'Cheap Thrills', saying it was an adult comic (when it was a Razzle type of mag!)

It was pretty obvious knowledge we'd been staring at our mum's boyfriend's stash of porn mags, mind, they came back from the club and caught us sitting crosslegged on the floor, Fiestas and Mayfairs everywhere!

yeah my mum found mine during one of those tragic moments when she tidies your room when you're at school! i came home and they were on my bed, i thought they were well hidden under a load of boxes on top of my wardrobe, she comes in and is like it's cool if you want to look at them, just don'tlet your younger brothers see them.. I got the same talk when she caught me smoking weed, so it was all good in the end

My mom was in a difficult position, my dad had a subscription to Playboy and he kept boxes of various other titles in his basement workshop. She would occasionally find a mag or two that borrowed from his stuff in my room, her big thing was that she didn't want my friends or my cousins (who lived downstairs) to find them. I know she read the Playboys, it wasn't unusual to find a copy on her bedstand but I never actually saw her looking at them.
