Attention: There is a prevalent email scam happening everywhere where the sender claims to have a password to a site and demands money in some form. Ignore it, do not respond and at most change passwords on any sites you frequent.

Effective immediately, moving or animated GIFs are not allowed in signatures. If your signature has one, please remove or replace it asap. Staff will remove them as and when we see them without notice.

Sincerest apologies to everyone for the recent blackout. VEF and several of our sister forums had a major server malfunction. The database index is being rebuilt from scratch and may take at least several days to be fully restored. Expect major weirdness and lots of glitches in the meantime. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Unfortunately it seems that all of the posts made from the 13th March until the crash are permanently lost, please feel free to re-post any such material, apologies for this.

73north Veteran Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Scottish Borders Posts: 1,890 Thanks: 16,324 Thanked 39,385 Times in 1,847 Posts	well , the good news is that it forced me to back up my images and replace ' lost ' images - so its not been a total waste of time - so my threads where I posted are better than before - so that's a consolation will wait and see if the 2 servers are unaffected come the 1st July
