While watching Diamonds Are Forever again, I was reminded of how a certain leading lady of that Bond movie was so outrageously hot. Next thought: some of the magnetizing ways in which Jill St. John came across deserved to be preserved on a Vintage Erotica Forum post. Next stop: this thread of hers, begun all the way back in 2007 by long-gone Member "Dawurz."


Who wouldn't want breakfast at this Tiffany?

First, I had to conduct an in-thread search for the film (I used the word "diamonds") to make sure I wasn't blatantly repeating already covered territory. There are currently 250 posts on this thread, and the references pertaining to this film took up nearly one-eighth of the results! I opened each post, and even though my contribution would have all been original frame grabs, I had to deep-six my plan; the film has been done to death around here.

What I wasn't surprised by was that many of the posts regarding Diamonds Are Forever were put up by VEF's resident 007, Mr. Bond. (He of the fine personality. Once very active, our own secret agent has paid his VEF dues, and is now not around so much, unfortunately.) From 2012, here's one of his offerings, regarding a wonderful image he reproduced several times throughout the thread:

The second photo was put up by Mr. Lazenby himself in 2020, on his Facebook page; the Aussie actor-turned-entrepreneur's text: "Once upon a time in Hollywood... Jill St. John and I at The Weekend Mail Ball in London 1970. The year before we were invited to a house party at our friend Sharon Tate's place in LA. Luckily for us our driver never showed up. As it turned out that night, Sharon was tragically taken from us. Tarantino's recent film starring Aussie actress Margot Robbie as Sharon brought back bittersweet memories of a nice girl. Love George."

("Luckily for us"?? Had George been there, he would have made mincemeat out of Manson's zombies, and saved the day. We're talking about the guy who stopped Telly Savalas.)

to check, since I was on a specific "Diamonds" mission at first.

On the topic of her lovers, Jill would have made Marx and Engels proud; she believed in sharing the wealth. Her IMDb bio informs that she has been "known for her romantic excursions with such eligibles as Jack Nicholson, David Frost, Bill Hudson, Roman Polanski and even Henry Kissinger." So Polanski made his pecker happy not just with Sharon Tate, but the bombshell in question as well. I wish I were in Rome, so I could do as the Romans do.

Scrolling down on that page, in the trivia section, there is an additional ton of recognizable names she has dated, including Adam West, and Sean Connery himself.

She was married to a race car driver named Lance Reventlow (1960-1963; he died at age 36 not on the track, but in an airplane) and an entertainer named Jack Jones from 1967-1969 (last two photos; sorry for the watermarks in the first of the two... there were clearer alternatives, but I thought the caption made this choice more interesting).

She hit paydirt with Robert Wagner, whom she met in 1959, and appeared in seven movies with. They became an item in 1982 (the year she played a W.I.P. warden; see below), and got hitched in 1990.

She began her acting career at age eight (1948), and appeared in ten television shows for nearly the next decade; her film debut was in Summer Love, starring then-heartthrob John Saxon.

Martin's Laugh-In, from 1968–1972.

I wanted to point out how different she appeared from the way we know Ms. St. John, by referring you to a close-up and a pool view that a special effort was made to snare (as the first version of the latter had an ugly watermark), but now I see the film was released in the USA in late June of 1958, when Jill was shy of eighteen, and cannot present them (no under-eighteens allowed on VEF). You can run a search, since the shots I had lined up, here and here (second link, combine words "blog" and "spot" as one word and substitute for "insert"), and others (see the IMDb page's "photos" section for the film) are readily accessible on the web, and she was practically an adult.



When Jill was forty-one or forty-two, she appeared as the bitch-warden in The Concrete Jungle (1982); how could she not help thinking that only a short time ago, she would have been the babe. (Well, she was still a babe.)



There is a trend of "Women in Prison" (W.I.P.) films where the one who plays the ruthless authority figure came from the ranks of sex symbol land, as with Stella Stevens in the classic Chained Heat (1983), with Linda Blair, and Brigitte Nielsen in Chained Heat II (1993), both pictured below.

Since I only investigated the "diamonds" related posts and did not go through the entire thread, I later examined the first few pages (as I was looking for the imagery I recalled from The Oscar, coming up), and discovered there was an intact large version of the shot from above on another post, featuring a mix of Jill photos. I hate to present what has already been presented, but in this case, there was one saving grace: when I searched, I also came across this other photo from the same shoot that is new on the thread.



(EDIT: Wrong. Later noticed Banned Member "9040574" had included this one with others from the same shoot — which was from photographer Terry O'Neill, according to Edmond57 — on the last page, in his Post #243 from a year ago. In his prior post, he also included multiple photos from the rare nude shoot Jill allowed for, with the see-through shirt in a pool.)


I remembered the enticing view from Jill's back as seen in The Oscar, when Jill performed her strip tease, and found the scene from YouTube to wind up with the following. (Had I gone though the thread, I would have come upon Span4f's selection, in the last post, now at the bottom of the prior page; he was also kind enough to offer a clip that I could have worked off of.)



I wanted to accentuate the paralyzing effect of her curves. Will you just look at this prime example of feminine anatomy! (Not to mention the way she moves her hips in the scene.) The last shot below is a taste of the same, from Diamonds are Forever, as she was going into her room to check Bond's fingerprints. She wasn't even dancing; Jill St. John can halt you in your tracks simply through everyday, normal motions.



It's amazing. Flabbergasting is what it is.

This was another case where I started out with a 'colorized' image from a YT video and started searching the 'net. Below is what I came up with.
I looked through the entire thread after finding some images on line, but there were only two posts that had any from this shoot: 211 and 222.

I wonder if all of those in 222 were also colorized...
