A Christmas Carol Blu-ray: 60th Anniversary Diamond Edition. Same old story, but it's really cool to see it as it would have appeared when it was first screened.

Was it the 1951 Alistair Sim version ? (called 'Scrooge' in the UK release)
I watched the 1984 version (George.C.Scott) on Christmas Eve

I did get Hurricane (2018) today. The CGI dogfighting wasn't realistic as stated by the reviews. I believe the screen size is too small to show actual realistic WW2 combat maneuvering. Vics, finger four formations, firing with lead (especially this), split S maneuvers, not shown to my satisfaction. I could live with the artistic license taken in some of the scenes/stories. The representation of the first kill for the Poles - being completely different from the "Repeat, please" scene in "The Battle of Britain" film was strange to me. The Poles being burned out, not getting replacements, generally being the walking dead at the end of the BoB wasn't something I was expecting to see. The Brits giving the lead character 3 days to leave Britain from the date of the Victory parade was rather ungrateful.

Really expected the Blonde to marry the Pole so he could stay in the country, but she stays with her facially burnt asshole English pilot. The Poles lose their country and those who can stay get menial jobs at the end of the war.

2.5 of 5 from me, wasn't expecting to be so depressed at the end of the film.

Oh, no titties shown.

Default Fires on the Plain 2014

In the final stages of WWII, the occupying Japanese army in the Philippines is rapidly losing ground, facing local resistance combined with an American offensive.
The final few Japanese survivors, having almost been wiped out, have crossed the threshold into a realm where there are no friends, no enemies and no God.
From beginning to end, the Director Tsukamoto confronts us with the horrors of war while refusing to countenance any notion of heroics - and the results, though not at all as pretty as the jungle landscapes, are unflinching, devastating and hard to forget.
English Subtitles -
frankly , I really enjoyed it ( I have a a big interest in the IJN /IJA )

Jeez, Will Ferrell has been in numerous bombs lately. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/holmes_and_watson_2018 I did not go see this movie but saw that it was being roasted as a terrible film. I await one of you more adventurous types to go view this movie and tell us what you think of it. The audience at rotten tomatoes was not kind.

I never really understood why people liked his cheerleader wannabe and President W Bush in SNL.

Yeah, I'm disappointed to see Ralph Fiennes in this. Besides, is there a good film with Will Ferrell? I always took him for another Adam Sandler.
