The EU referendum scenario is just as untruthful in the same way. Told a thousand lies for decades, and the public have no problem swallowing them, even though they don't know a single fact |

The notion that the full forensic background of the evidence would be made public prior to trial is an amazing pre-requisite for credibility. Particularly given the credibility of the two State actors involved. Colour me incredulous, but living in the the Trump/Putin-verse that we do, I'm sadly not surprised. |

From what I read, nearly all EU nations are now becoming pleased about UK's self-ejection from the EU. In retrospect, they see it as a very obstructive and disruptive Member, constantly against European ideals
It will take decades to repair this damage |

From what I read the 27 are arguing plenty over how to fill the hole in the EU budget .

European nations and institutions loaned more than 200 billion euros to Greece (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-33407742). So a hole of 50 billion euros is peanuts for the EU. You will find plenty of international banks and institutions that will happily loan that amount to the EU, keeping in mind that the Eurozone is growing at a faster rate than the UK since the referendum. |

The article simply states that the European Commission is studying various scenarios, which is the sensible thing to do. Budget cuts would be the easiest option, but if you read well the article, one of the scenarios is the "continuation of the status quo". The EU still has a year left to finalise the details of the 2021-27 multiannual financial framework: "Formally, the MFF is approved by a unanimous decision of the Council of Ministers and the Parliament has to give its consent. This will take place on 9 May 2019 during the Sibiu Summit. The new budget will enter into force in January 2021 for a period of 7 years, until 2027."
