Hey everyone. Old time lurker, finally joined. This site is awesome, I don't know why I didn't join years ago. I'm a very experienced member on other forums (no porn) so I'm new to this one, but an old timer to universal forum etiquette. I joined and insta-posted to the Model ID forum, which I now realize is a no-no, and for good reason.

I'm probably going to start my own thread soon, of pictures that are nostalgic to me personally. I have a bunch I lost for many years, but eventually found again. I'm always really appreciative when I find them, so hopefully I'll post some that others have been missing. Glad to be here!

VEF is a unique site. It all boils down to a few things really.

* Just read the rules every time you go to a new section. There are rules around every corner. VEF is a very big piece of cyberspace. Each section is different and moderated by different people. It takes a while to get used to it. You've already learned what is not okay in one place might be okay in another.

* It's all about sharing. This is an incredibly generous and giving community for members who participate and also share.

* Hit the thanks button when you see a nice post. Don't be stingy with it, or the members will be stingy in return.

*When in doubt, ask. If you have a scintilla of a doubt if or where you should start a thread, ask. Send a pm to the moderators of that section. There's also a really good help section as well.

Enjoy your new forum.

Yes, I am now 0 for 2 new thread attempts. After that last post, I did like I said with my own thread. Insta-deleted. It makes me feel very unwelcome and like this is a rule nazi site. In my car forum, if someone posts in the wrong forum, the moderators simply move it. I didn't back up my posts, so now they're gone forever.

I've been there too

It's not a nice thing to be greeted by the 'most activity in : Trash Bin' but you can get over that. Just make sure you are posting to the correct section & what you're posting isn't already there - take the good advice from Winebeavis & you stick at it.
