Image hosting site - New to me, and great

Just uploaded a bunch of covers using postimage.org. It's really fast, has no pop-ups, doesn't drop images, lets you resize to five or six standard sizes.

I've seen postimage used on other sites and it seemed to work just fine. For the hell of it, I just uploaded an image and discovered what I believe to be the issue. In order to get the image link to work properly, you have to choose "Do not resize my image" from the drop down menu. Here's an example...

A couple of issues I see with postimage is that it appears you have to upload your images one by one and there doesn't seem to be a gallery option. I personally wouldn't use this particular file host, but I'll leave it to better men than I to decide whether it should be allowed on VEF.

When I upload photos, it shows all links to the separate images in the main window...it reads "Codes For All Images" on a dropdown menu to the right of the main window, which when you click on, you can secondarily select "Link to This Gallery."

So I guess I don't understand why this would be a problem. I've used the site to post numerous galleries at VEF, it's quick with no pop-ups, easy to resize images...why on earth would this site be banned?

You don't have to upload one by one. Click "Browse" and there is no limit to the number you can select to upload. I've uploaded 20 at a time by clicking "Browse" repeatedly...it just adds all images until you finally press upload.

It seems this is actually necessary to include this link in the post, since viewing the individual images does not provide a link to the gallery, unlike on ImageBam.

That's still a lot of clicking if you have a full set of 50 or 100 pictures, unfortunately.

cerv3za... I am not suggesting that the site should be banned. The issues I have with postimage are minor. For whatever reason, I was unable to batch upload to the site. Perhaps the site was having issues or I just didn't understand the user interface. As I said previously, I've seen postimage used on other sites and I've never had any concerns with its safety or stability.

It might be worth noting that I don't like ImageVenue and that it easily one of the most popular image hosting sites on VEF. We all have our prefences.

You cant really gauge how good / bad an imagehost is
until you've used them for at least 12 months

When i see this type of fAQ statement I see uploaders flooding the site and the rule changing to reflect their competition or images are removed quietly and randomly
ie imagebam

3) How long will images be left on the server?

You can uplod unlimited images per post will never have to worry about your images being removed for inactivity.

Its an unsustainable business model - If it gets too popular

Never hurts to diversify and lessen the hammer blow of everything on 1 imagehost

I've used PI for years now. Not here of course, because I guess the
mod that took down my post of a pic once using Postimage, couldn't
figure out how to use the gallery. Which seems like a silly rule anyways,
because when I use any other image host, I specifically click the no
gallery option. I store my pics in folders on these sites, and I don't particularly
want every picture in a folder to be pulled up. Bit of laziness in that rule
seems to me, but doesn't apply to Postimage I know that.
