Very nice cover of Tyrannosaurus Rex (aka Mac Bolan)'s "Debora" in the Land Rover Discovery commercial "Wedding". . . no idea who the performer is. Anyone know? It's only thirty seconds, but it's terrific, strips out the truly terrible lyrics ("Debora, you look like a zebra") and instead you hear the nifty rhythm and melody, very ahead of its time.

Default Ghost Riders in the Sky!

There are so many good versions out there of this song, I can't really choose between them. I like each of these, for different reasons...

Stan Jones - the original.

Burl Ives, first version I ever heard.

Vaughn Monroe - the one that became a hit - the first one that I saw on TV.

Dick Dale - 's electric guitar only version, with a one minute intro about him.

Johnny Cash, one of the definitive versions.

The Ramrods with an instrumental version.

The Outlaws, another fine version

Debby Harry, with some electronica in there.

Spiderbait's movie version, quite nice.

Default Any Cover by Garth Brooks

I have seen Garth in concert 23 times and I was lucky enough to be in the front row for Garth's 1997 Central Park Concert where I got to see Garth perform American Pie with Don McLean and Shameless and You May Be Right with Billy Joel. Awsome!!!
As well as those three songs I have heard Garth cover the following live:
Grand Funk Railroad's "Were An American Band"
Georgia Satellite's "Keep Your Hands To Yourself"
KISS's "Hard Luck Woman"
George Strait's "Unwound"
Bob Seger's "Turn The Paige" and "Night Moves"
Bob Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love" (for that matter any Bob Dylan song sung by anyone other than Dylan)

Those are my favorites. Garth has done a lot of covers. A large portion of his show he did at The Wynn was covers of artists who influenced him.

One of my favorite Garth songs is The Fever. I don't know if this qualifies as a cover. It was written by Steven Tyler and recorded by Aerosmith but the lyrics were changed to make it a song about bull ridding and they added a smokin fiddle solo.

The cover has a vastly different tempo. The original blues edition was adapted and enlivened into a rhythm 'n' blues version.
Another favorite.....

Original edition by The Rolling Stones found HERE.

Cover version by The Sundays found HERE.

The cover has a more mystical guitar sound, in my opinion.

From the soundtrack of The Committments, by Robert Arkins and backing vocals by Maria Kennedy Doyle, Angelina Ball and Bronagh Gallagher, here's another cover of "Bring it on Home to Me."

Arkins sang several songs on the two soundtrack albums but the only time his singing voice is heard in the movie is over the opening credits doing the song "Treat Her Right."
