Some online critics say there are glaring holes in the plot, although nobody cites any?
I'd say the biggest mystery is why anybody would want to off this honey, under any circumstances.
Okay, so she cheats on him, and Mort catches her in a motel with another man.
Doesn't this happen to almost everyone eventually? Shoulda just moved her to Wolf Creek.

People always say Knotting hill is crap but I really enjoy it, ok Hugh Grant plays Hugh Grant again but in this film it works and the guy who plays spike is superb, Julia Roberts doesn't overact and is quite credible.
The basic plot premise is lazy but all in all it works and I find the film quite charming.

Joe Dirt to me, is like a guilty pleasure.

SOME people say it was crap; however: Critics loved it, audiences flocked to it, and it has something intelligent to say about the nature of celebrity. Also, I insist the film has the finest tracking shot in modern cinema (regarding the criticism of this shot in another thread, I respond with a hearty 'shrug').

Most importantly, in my view, I own a copy!

Agree about Roberts but just couldn`t get into that film , but then i`d been forced to watch four weddings and a funeral two days before by my then GF and so couldn`t really stomach seeing Mr Fop so soon again . Especially on a massive bloody screen with a load of cooing women around me

As i recommend choosing the more comfortable option of shaving your nut fluff with a cheese grater , over watching a grainy badly cut together film on youtube

Anyway i want my fellow members to hunt down copies of the DVD , so creating a wave of interest and a reversal from commercial failure to rampant success

Yes i really liked this film and have seen it twice on TV. But then ma man Cusack stars in it so how could i not like it

Which barely broke even at the box office and i can see why as eventhough it has some very neat touches as a narrative it more or less collapses half way through , while the ending is gaggingly sickly sweet and kinda unbelievable ( Yeah like the film was a true story job ). But it`s saved by Cusack giving a trademark flawless performance

I liked:
In the Mouth of Madness (one of my favorite directors)
The Name of the Rose
What Dreams May Come (own the dvd, no not an excuse to flame me)
Mr Brooks (good movie especially the daughter twist)

Didn't know they were flops.

Knew Waterworld was a flop but like it. Same Postman but the book is much better.

The Cooler. What a great flick was going to be my pick but it actually made quite a bit of money.

Zoolander would have been another pick but it too made money.

So I'm going to opt for Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness.

Ok, it made its production costs back at the box office, but only just so probably counts as a flop. Its now described as having a cult following - but I think thats movie speak for "Thanks for buying our shit, but to make you feel better we'll let you think you're not alone, and maybe you'll buy more." I love this film and none of my friends can stand it. In fact I saw it with a gf and she was less than impressed, didn't help when after the movie finished I turned to her and said "Give me some sugar, baby."

Its a spoof on the whole undead thing and follows the exploits of supermarket bagboy Ash (Bruce Campbell, Aetolis(?) the thief in 'The Completely Made Up Adventures Of Hercules' series with Kevin Sorbo), as he does battle with the forces of evil and the undead. Theres plenty of pop culture references throughout the film and some nods to various horror and splatter movies, the affects are pretty good but not cutting edge. In this the third film Ash ends up back in yea olde England at the court of King arthur, and sets about upsetting everyone with his modern American take on the situation. A Chevy at Camelot, anyone. Its a rollicking good ride and Ash has some terrific lines. Its a fun film made by people having fun, so enjoy. Oh and watch it with you're significant other, adds to the fun.

You may have noticed I got tired of posting links.
Had a lot of time today while my car was repaired (?) for the twentieth time this month, and no way, other than walking (shudder), to a video store.
I just wanted to share the pain. 'In the Mouth of Madness' was good though.
There should be a sequel - 'In the Minds of Mechanics'
