Compare the bottom 3 to past years and quite seriously none of them might be relegated even if their recent form isnt all that flash Wolves gave Man U their first defeat(2-1)of the season not long ago in a run of games where they looked more like a top 6 side than bottom 3 Wigan only beaten by a solitary goal by Chelsea recently have been around the mark West Ham up until the last 2 games were scoring which isnt the sign of a typical bottom 3 side in recent years Blackpool on the other hand have been diving like a Sub under attack since the Charlie Adam transfer saga...6/7 recent losses in a row says their shot and going down FOR SURE Any team in the bottom 6 could go down it just depends on who in the bottom responds to their recent defeats best when the 6 point games begin in earnest Black Pool v Wigan for example Last edited by buttsie; April 12th, 2011 at 01:00 PM.. |

Interesting set of fixtures in League 1 tonight:
Brighton v Dagenham & Redbridge Leyton Orient v Carlisle Rochdale v Southampton Walsall v Brentford Yeovil v Notts County Here's hoping Brighton give the Daggers a good thrashing and Yeovil and County draw. Of course, the Saddlers have simply GOT to beat Brentford. If we don't win, it's pretty much all over for us this season. There'll be too much to do in the last five games to survive, I think. Anyone seen Road Dogg lately? I want to know whether I finished bottom again in the predictions compo. |

Yes it looks like you might also be losing Jose Enrique too-who would you get to replace him? One consolation at least you will still be in the Premier League next season.

Unless Mick can devise some plan, formation that allows Fletcher and Blake to metamorphose into Batman and Robin we'll struggle to score, and as we're currently second last, and need to win and thus score, we're deep(er) in dog doo. |

Now only man city's semi final stands between the two biggest spending teams ending the season potless, and two managers ending the season jobless.
Apparently fernando torres is going to Blackpool at the end of the season. Nothing to do with football he's just off to see what other donkeys do for a living. Local plumbers in Liverpool are now charging double to install toilets owing to the number of liverpool fans pissing themselves. |

As for a replacement for Carroll, next season we'll probably spend £20m replacing him with Ballotelli. It's the sort of stupid daft thing that we'd do.

VEF round of prediction champs are IngramJohn and Shodan2011
After a superb start by most of us on Friday and Saturday nights it looked as though records could be broken though in true VEF style it fell away and only one more correct score was nailed by tmee2000 in the Beira-Mar v Olhanense game which finished 1-0 to the hosts. After scoffing at Dumbassgo's prediction of 2-2 in the game between Portimonense and Porto, he came mighty close to nailing maybe the correct score in VEF history, Porto had only conceded 3 away goals all season prior to this game and Portimonense had only scored 15 at home all season, it required an 87th min winner for Porto to win 3-2, very good prediction and very unlucky at the same time. Benfica went down 2-1 at Naval, guvn00rr came closest with a 2-2 draw for this one, rest of us had wins for Benfica and no one gave hope for Rio Ave who went to Pacos de Ferreira except for IngramJohn but even he couldn't predict that they would win 6-1 in an absoulte rout of Rio Ave, but that result was enough for him to have one hand on the cup alongside shodan. IngramJohn and Sodan2011 will select what league we will be playing in next weekend, great work guys Updated overall table below

Really really hate to say that, but Man U plays the most exciting football in Europe at the moment. As I said before, I'm one of the very few who don't actually like Barca's Subbuteo like passing game.
Outstanding performance by Giggs throughout the game last night and although Drogba brought some hope back to Chelsea, albeit only lasted about a minute ish. Can't remember who was near Park at the 2nd goal, however it was piss poor defending - Ivanovic maybe? Anyone know what's the story with Torres? If you remember, I was all in for selling him at the right price; I mean costing 50 million quid, isn't it about time starting putting the ball at the back of the net?
