I`m not saying throw the television away , in fact that`s the last thing i`d advocate because if a man's home is his castle then his TV is certainly the ideal house mate. No i`m just saying why do we have to pay to watch something that should be as free here as it is in the rest of the world. Ok if you want to view sky programmes that's one thing , but to be forced to fund BBC9 !, or those dancing / singing / cooking / farting shows they churn out ???
Also it`s not as if the bulk of the actual money goes into decent programming,as it mainly goes into dumbed down mentalities ,gilt edged pensions ,their vast over stuffed pockets , useless digital and radio stations and jolly junkets for the board ex`s !.

dross everywhere on the box .. i was out of the country for five years and was amazed low brow british tv had become but there still is hope Qi, bbc3 and 4. American tv has taken the lead with BL, Family guy, AD. Now we've exported all the cr*p to them poor things.

I think they got the idea from one of those damned holiday programmes and thought it would be nice to have a holiday home. Or maybe the political staff told them how well it works with the EU shunting between Brussels and Strasbourg with European tax-payers footing the bill. The bigger the corporation the larger the waste and how further away from reality the leaders seem to become.
