Just watched the Cats thrash the Pies 66-45.
The whistle seemed to be blowing every 10 secs. Does a low scoring game like this tend to indicate a lack of quality? |

It reminds me of how footy use to be that game. We are so use to high scoring games now that a good old fashion arm wrestle seems dull.

Lots of pressure around the ball
Lots of skill errors as a result Lots of highly paid players who got the yips when kicking for goal Chris Mayne showed his value by taking out one of his own players in the last quarter and leaving them with 2 down on the bench which eventually told in a real game of attrition. http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2018/8/coll-v-geel Last edited by buttsie; May 14th, 2018 at 02:32 AM.. The power beat the reigning premier Richmond and some are saying it was nothing special
because a few key Richmond players werent playing. Short sighted dickheads would be an appropriate label for these types All last season these types were lamenting that the Power couldnt beat a top 8 team Now they beat one in a hard fought 4 quarter effort and its nothing special. The 7 goal 2nd quarter alone showed its was something exceptional. Give me back the 14,000 diehards who supported this team in their darkest hour 2008-2012 and eject the fairweather crowd who arent happy when winning ,even unhappier when losing who re-joined 2013- when Hinkley brought them back from the dead. Last years Grand Finalists - season effectively over - 4th loss in a row
Those that live in the mathematically possible world only need look at their injury list to know they have no chance...the run home is as hard as it gets.
The loss to Melbourne by 91 points was the first sign of the end The moment your fitness program starts injuring your players every week your on a hiding to nothing playing catch up. The Adelaide Crows even after a dozen hamstring injuries wont admit they got their pre-season totally wrong - talk about protecting the brand Goodbye season HAWTHORN 2.5 3.9 10.11 12.16 (88) ADELAIDE 1.2 3.5 3.5 4.8 (32) http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2018/13/haw-v-adel |

To put the Power's win over The Tigers in context, Richmond defeated Geelong today by 3 goals.Good effort over one of the best teams $$ can buy...

Could be worse Gold coast look like the basket case from hell No sporting team has ever lasted on the Gold Coast The AFL in its wisdom have ploughed 100mil + into them Brendon Bolton is a decent enough coach - this season has been their perfect storm They let Gibbs go , Murphy got injured and the rest is history They were 5-0 up in round 1 against Richmond on the MCG The task at hand needs some context - Dennis Pagan & Mick Malthouse couldnt revive them 45 players delisted in 3 seasons - could take longer than Melbourne or Brisbane to comeback Another friday night nightmare fixture which just happens to be 1 of the 3 free to air games If i read it right telstra mobile customers can get them all for free with an app Richmond 10 6 66 St Kilda 1 3 9 (19minutes 2nd quarter) http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2018/18/stk-v-rich Last edited by buttsie; July 20th, 2018 at 11:07 AM..
