I used to be a big dog person, but when our German Shepherd died my wife got a Maltese terrier. God she is amazing, the puppy I mean not the wife, such personality. She's so friendly and affectionate and if she demands attention and doesn't get it, she literally sulks and stalks away to hide under the bed.
I am definitely a little dog kind of bloke now. |

My mother never allowed a dog at home, so I never had one as a kid. Funny because my parents grew up with cats and dogs. My father used to tell me all the great stories about his dogs while not letting me have one. Irresponsible as I am, I'm not having one now either. But if I ever have kids, they're gonna have one for sure.
The German shepherd was always my favorite breed due to their high intelligence (well, for a dog). I used to know some people who owned some and playing with them was like hanging out with friends. |

Another famous German dog,Moritz the pet(and occasional flying companion) of Manfred Von Richtofen,He also thought very highly of His dog's intelligence.

Jack Russel
Said to be very intelligent and family friendly. Almost everyone says this. And it's almost certainly true - I played with one once at an animal doctor's office. He didn't even know me, but I'll never forget him
