Until last Christmas I would have agreed with the people who jumped on you, Aubrey - for decades I found Victoria Wood unattractive and bum-achingly unfunny. The only thing I ever liked her in was her first play "Talent" and I found her unattractive in that too, even though she was a very young woman at the time.

I don't think it was her fatness, it was something to do with how her nose dominated her face and made her mouth look squished into a lower face too small for it.



Her comedy reminded me of the class fat girl making fun of herself to get sympathy and fit in with her mates.

But this Christmas I watched old repeats of "Dinner Ladies" which I had never seen before and found her very attractive indeed. She wasn't as fat as she was in her 20s and she wasn't yet the rather grandmotherly woman she has since become.



Her humour now has an appealingly world-weary middle-aged wistfulness about it, which I find far more appealing

So at least in regard of Victoria Wood in her mid-40s as she was in "Dinner Ladies" and considering she lost a lot of weight, which did improve her looks by removing the doughiness of her face, I'm with both Haldeman and Aubrey - although I still feel I shouldn't fancy her, I do, and would happily travel back 15 years in a time-machine to "beat her on the bottom with a Woman's Weekly" and do much more too.

Her CBBC colleague Cerrie Burnell was on the team as well, and I know she's had a mention in this thread- She's the girl who when she first appeared on CBBC got complaints from idiot viewers who claimed her disability (she was born without a right hand) was scaring their kids
