If I may be so bold - don't use P&H - it's a disaster. I have used Imagebam (supplemented by Imagevenue for the images that IB bans) for many years with almost no problems.

I also recommend Image bam , very reliable , and have dropped using image venue
as the silly system seems to ' lose ' images that I posted in the past , that I no longer own - so can't re-upload them to the forum-
I also now ( for Rachel Broome and Eve Stratford ( Eva Von Bork ) save the images in Documents in case of loss from the image server , once bitten twice shy

Seems there's a lot written about upload problems. I haven't used it to upload but am having continuous download problems from posts already on VEF. I've been using IHG.

This might be obvious, but are P&H's issues also affecting downloads via IHG? I've scoured and re-entered host editor URLs and search patterns etc but nothing fixes it.

Downloading from other hosts not a problem.

Just curious before I spend more time trying to get it to work.

I usually download pics via JD2, but it can no longer find ph links so tried ihg, it also returned no pics.

If a download manager no longer works with a host you go to the software developers forum
if they have one and tell them and usually they fix it within a week
- something about codes being changed usually

I dont know exactly how download managers or hosts work but there is a constant war between the 2 of them because one allows the taking of content without displaying ads enmass - Ads are what pays for the bandwidth used.

If we all went down the download manager path the imagehosts would eventually
react probably by limiting the size of pics / then accounts / Removing dormant content
like imagevenues convenient hack that appeared to kill of a lot of older content.

Worst case scenario - Some image - decided to close.

Whether it was download managers / ad-blocking or somethig else we'll never really know but what we do know is if there are too few ads generating revenue for a host its peformance will deteriorate over time.

From what i was once told by a webmaster the site only gets revenue when us members click on the ads - the way malware via ransomware is currently spreading through the ad set-up you'd want your PC to be bullett roof before you do - even if you dont click the dangers still exist
if you have vulnerabilities on your computer / inside your browser.

They both allow right click and to choose Open Image in New Tab. The first one, however, doesn't open a tab, it actually opens a file save dialog for me to save the pic locally to my hard drive.

The second picture does open a new tab to view the jpg file.

My personal experience is this: all images from 117.imagebam.com server aren't opening in the new tab, but from any other server - no problem (your second pic is on 115.imagebam.com).

I was having trouble getting the links from pics I just uploaded to PimpandHost.com, so I stopped using it for a week. I tried again today, and was still not getting the links, even though the pic was showing as uploaded. Then I tried enlarging the pic I just uploaded up to full original size. If you do that, the links show up ("share codes" below the pic) and can be used.... I know most are using Imagebam, and I may again too. But I keep getting weird pop-ups when I click on other people's pics hosted on there. One today actually beeped!
EDIT: I just noticed another quirk. A successful link copy on P&H shows up as briefly yellow when it works. Sometimes the links show up, but the non-yellow field doesn't always work.

OK, P&H worked for me today as I added a pic in the " Sexy monochrome pic of the hour" thread. As you say, the browser button worked and I uploaded from my pc. The thumb appeared and then after about 30secs it allowed me to insert the image...So roughly back to normal. Mind you, how long it lasts is anyones guess.

Since I don't have many full sets, but thousands of individual pics, I usually post just in the "funnies" threads. That way it won't matter as much if whatever host one uses eventually fails, fewer pics will be lost. It's a good way to experiment and see which ones last.

Signing into VEF with a proxy like anonymouse , the easiest workaround
but it has its limitations - download managers dont work - at least imagehostgrabber 1.6.5.5.that i'm using

Might just be me but it appears a 2nd limitation -

It doesnt like cross links from one section to another as it continually signs-out
and signing back in just leads to the main page

If you go to the individual section where the cross link leads you can see the content
1 scan / pic at a time given the download manager limitation

Like I said in previous posts - it has its limitations
