Samantha Strong as Elizabeth Shue's "Sera"?
Had the privilege to once speak with Samantha Strong and was struck by her pensive demeanor, a sort of jaded persona, forlorn. The same type of persona portrayed by Elizabeth Shue in her role as "Sera" in the movie Leaving Las Vegas. Samantha is photographed/filmed on more than one ocassion with a black choker necklace, similar to what Shue wore in the movie.
I wonder if Shue consulted with Strong before filming or if Shue based her character on Strong, at least in part. To me, it's as though Shue identified Strong, studied her, and then created "Sera." Admittedly, I don't personally know either of the two, but Shue's character reminds me of no other than Samantha Strong. Anyone else agree, that Shue's character is based on Strong? I have juxtaposed below a Strong picture taken from her thread (credit to OP) next to a shot of Shue in the movie. Last edited by the cruiser; April 21st, 2016 at 09:23 PM.. |
