Quick Reply adds line spaces?
It's not a big problem i'm having but it intruiges me nevertheless.
Recently i noticed that for each line i write in Quick Reply, a line of space gets added. (strangely enough, in post preview i can edit that and then it will be normal). So if i write this in Quick Reply: line of textit will come out as: line of text(i had to edit this post in preview as well, by the way) Anyone has any clues? |

To be clear, the lines get added after i click "post quick reply", Not while i am typing it.

Hi there cicciobuki!
I've been seeing the same thing for about the last month. As you say, not a big problem as it can be edited out, but still strange & never happened previously. Curious! EDIT: Sure enough, it did it to this post! I've left the double spaces in as an example of what's being discussed. Last edited by PoloMintGuy; August 18th, 2018 at 10:09 AM.. Reason: Caught the extra spaces in the act! |

Testing 123
This is another test Works for me, too. My VEF settings specify use of the "Standard Editor" I'm not sure if the Basic, or Advanced (WYSIWYG) modes might produce different results. Last edited by highwayman274; August 18th, 2018 at 06:38 PM.. Reason: adding text |

Hi there Jenny48549 & highwayman274!
How odd. To be clear, if I do not press return to add a gap between sentences, all is fine. However if I press return to get a gap between sentences like so: I end up with a two line gap instead of one, once I post the comment The extra can be deleted upon editing the post. I'm using the latest Firefox, will try IE just to see if it makes a difference. Hope this is of use! EDIT: Yes, still the added gaps on return presses once posted. EDIT 2: IE test to see if it doubles. Test line IE Test line IE Test line FF Test line IE Test line IE Aha, doubling does not occur with Internet Explorer. This never used to happen with Firefox, something must have changed fairly recently. Test line WaterFox Test line WaterFox WaterFox is fine too, just newest Firefox. They do keep messing things up since destroying add-ons, sigh. Last edited by PoloMintGuy; August 18th, 2018 at 07:05 PM.. |

Ahh, i also use Firefox (and the WYSIWYG mode but that's been my setting for years) Edit: latest update in Firefox was august 10, which is fairly recent. i don't recall when i first noticed this thing though, feels more recent, but this is a possibility. |

Testing that WYSIWYG interface option , changed it to Basic editor now.
And the result is... Edit: the result is no extra line. Huh! Edit 2: so i tried playing with those 3 settings in the test section: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho....php?p=4531349 And only the WYSIWYG option seems to show this behavior for me. Basic and Standard are fine. Last edited by cicciobuki; August 18th, 2018 at 07:41 PM.. |

Mine too was set to WYSIWYG, as it has always been, & changing to "Standard Editor" seems to have fixed it. Sadly it does hobble some of the more advanced functions (like copying a member's highlighted name). I'll have to see which is more annoying to live with. For anyone looking for the option, go to "User CP" at the top of the board then "Edit Options" on the left side, the second to last box at the bottom of the page is "Message Editor Interface" from which Standard Editor can be selected. "Edit: latest update in Firefox was august 10, which is fairly recent. i don't recall when i first noticed this thing though, feels more recent, but this is a possibility." Sounds about right, this has been a fairly recent bug. Firefox Quantum seems determined to drive me away, such a shame as I used to love Firefox. Already have to use WaterFox so that I can use DownloadThemAll, an essential tool for me. WaterFox is rather nice actually, like Firefox before Quantum. Thanks to all helping out here! EDIT: Found an old post about this issue with a previous version of Firefox but sadly the stated solution no longer seems applicable to Quantum. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1118727 Last edited by PoloMintGuy; August 18th, 2018 at 08:03 PM.. |

Indeed Ilike the benefits of WYSIWYG more than the extra line bugs me. Might give Waterfox a try too, by the way, looks like a good tip! |
