Very true - for the moment I don't need to work, but until 2006 I worked a permanent 2pm to 10pm shift for most of ten years and I would either be falling asleep by the time I had to start my shift, or if I was lucky, I might drop off in the late morning for two or three hours, which left me feeling as if all the daylight hours had been used up by work or sleep. And added to that I would often fall asleep during the daylight hours on my free days meaning that i felt that my life consisted only of going to work and sitting up in the early hours in a deathly insomniac glaze.

Since daylight savings finished, my sleeping has been really good. It's still quite humid at night, but I'm falling asleep without much difficulty.

For all of my adult life, I have never been able to sleep more than 5-6 hours a night, sometimes 7. And I have NEVER been able to sleep straight through, I frequently wake up at least 2, sometimes 3 times a night.
I actually sleep better in the afternoons than I do at night. I seem to sleep more soundly in the afternoons, must be some kind of psychological or emotional dynamic to it. I've had OCD, anxiety, and clinical depression since I was a kid. There's no question that my constantly running worries and running thoughts contribute to me waking up during the night. I take Klonopin, which is prescribed to me as a sleep aid. And it does work well helping me to FALL asleep, but it seems to make no difference it helping me STAY asleep. I wake up regardless. In 2010, I had a truly scary time in my life. A lot of things were going wrong in my life, and besides losing my job of 12 years, my social life was at a low, I was losing control of every aspect of my life. Starting in February of 2010 I suddenly lost my ability to fall asleep. For a nightmarish 10 months, I could only sleep for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours a night, many nights I couldn't fall asleep at all. My anxiety and panic were so intense, that I developed a truly terrifying condition where I would be laying in bed with my eyes closed, and my eye lids were LITERALLY reopening by themselves. It was like a reflex. I'd be trying to fall asleep, and I could feel my eyelids going up. It truly was terrifying. I was getting so little sleep that I went into like a permanent stupor/hangover. It became dangerous, driving became dangerous, and my immune system began to break down. The most horrifying aspect of it was that I was EXHAUSTED. I'm laying in bed, not having slept for a week, and my body WOULD NOT fall asleep. It is a very strange sensation when you are so tired that you could sleep for 24 hours straight, and yet you cannot fall asleep. That tells you how powerful the brain is, and how much your sense of well being or lack thereof can affect your body's ability to function normally. After finally resolving some things and having the guts to get my life back on track again, did I finally regain the ability to fall asleep. But for anyone who has been through sleeplessness, they will tell you that it really is one of the scariest things you can go through.

As you`d have to sober up enough first Sheesh, I told you , We all told you , Even Hamish McBallShoot the Scotch Patron Saint of adding fertiliser to the house of Windsors`s palatial gardens, told you. Yet ever the emerald rouge you said you knew best. Uh huh and more fool all of us mere mortals for ever doubting you, as just look at you now
