I'll tell you what really makes me angry and that is I'm 52 years old now and I can't stop acting like a child. A spoiled brat child that if he doesn't get his way or something doesn't go right he's going to throw a temper tantrum. He's going to scream and throw things, punch things, kick things regardless of how it jeopardizes his career. He just can't stop himself.

Time after time after time, incident after incident, I say to myself, "ok that's enough of that it will never happen again" but it happens again and again and again. In that flash of a moment I feel like I just have to do something. I can't just shrug it off and say "oh well" and just act normally like most other people can. For some reason something clicks in my head and says "do something".

I make fairly good money now. I've been at my job for 10 years now. I got two raises last year. I've got a lot to lose if I were to lose my job. You would think that that would be more than enough incentive to act right and stop this nonsense, but it isn't. You would think that the shame that I feel when others see me doing this crap, or the reputation that I have as a hot head would be enough for me to finally stop doing it, but it doesn't.

You would think that the long, long laundry list of inanimate objects I've damaged or the things I've injured on myself in these fits of rage would be enough to make me stop, but it doesn't.

This latest incident that happened at work on Friday sounds like it's not that big of a deal but it could be if the person in charge, our GM, chooses to make it into one. I have a stainless steel counter where I work that I share with another guy that sits about 10 feet away from me. It's separated in the middle by a small wall where our printer sits. The technicians come up to each of us to get their parts. I was using a pair of pliers trying to get something opened and it just wasn't happening. After about the 20th time of trying I snapped and slammed the pliers down on the counter and apparently they dug in a little and caused a chip in the counter and raised a sharp little burr to come up. I took a little emery cloth and polished out the sharp edge but now there's a very small chunk missing about the size of the writing tip of an ink pen and there's a little cloudy area where the emery cloth polished it off. Now this counter top is 10 years old and has probably 10 other dents, chips, scratches, etc. But this one is right where the GM sometimes comes and uses my side to get his reports and use my trash can. It's the kind of thing that he might see and not remember seeing it there before and ask me how that happened. If I tell him how I did it he's just that much of an asshole to either suspend me or possibly fire me regardless of how much I apologize and say it won't happen again. So I'm not looking forward to getting back to work on Tuesday morning.

But the more important point is that I simply don't know how to address this intense anger issue. I don't know if I need to ask my doctor to put me on something to calm me down and what the side effects of that could be. I just don't know what to do but it has to stop.

Do you sleep well and have a regular sleeping pattern? From what you've described, it could be a lack of sleep that's making you so irritable and angry.

I just trust my tap water, it's not like i don't get any other potentially unhealthy substances in my system... 2nd hand smoke, hormones, smog, alcohol, poisins in the food etc...

I already accepted that i probably won't get very old, and i'm ok with that.

TM you should look at your reverse osmosis equipment , I bet you will find that it's made of plastic sooooooo

I sleep roughly 6 hours total a night. I hit the couch as soon as I get home from work for a nap which can be for about an hour or so. Then I get about 3 to 4 hours when I finally go to bed before getting up for work.

But this has been an issue for at least 40 years or so that I just have never been able to get rid of on my own.

I used to have the same problem, but it has diminished a great deal since I am no longer working.

Now what really annoys me is that I am broke all the time.

It's amazing how big an industry has sprung up on the basis of selling water. Mineral, sparkling and now ultra condensed for the finest purity. All pure marketing spiel. Drink this and you'll live longer and stay young too. Your eyes will not shrivel up and fall out of their orbits...etc etc. Most of which is cobblers to be frank in terms of their claims.

Your tapwater generally will vary according to the geology it has been trapped in but it's just as good for you. The worry is the shrinkage of water supplies, the pollution of sources and over abstraction. One wonders when it will end.

They are now looking to abstract groundwater trapped under the Sahara a source long known to the Garamantids for example. But with huge population increases how long will that source exist ?

As far as I am concerned advertising is a cancer. Fills peoples heads with all sorts of the wrong ideas, misleads constantly and leaves many hooked on a materialistic labels culture always seeking the next thing and never feeling satisified. It's a sleazy business when all is said and done.

Also the travelling community have been leaving their mark in and around Watford this week. Destroying cricket pitches, leisure facilities and leaving a pile of excrement and building waste when moved on. When will government both local and state get a grip with them ?

And the amazing mark up in price compared to tap water
I think I remember a news story on a current affairs program quite a few years back indicating it was in the order of 1000 %

Just get a filter and use your tap water
