It's so damn cold here I decided to grab some Canadian whiskey (irony) and get a bit of pre-Christmas cheer into my veins.
Damn December.

This is the beer that I had with my lunch today. Christoffel is a pilsner type beer which is defined as a light lager. It is from the Netherlands. It has a golden or as it is said in the beer world, a blonde color. It has an alcohol content of 6.5%. It has an odd taste. Slightly sweet with the aroma of banana and other fruits, possibly due to a high hop content. It also comes with this strange top you will note in the photo. I have had many imported beers with this strange metal attachment that opens the bottle. I think it's purpose allows one to close the bottle securely if one does not finish the beer to preserve the natural carbonation and flavor. |

This is the beer I had with lunch today. It is Ayinger Weizen Bock. It is a German beer/ale. It is a combination wheat bock ale and has an alcohol content of 7.1%. Normally bock beers/ales have a darker color because of the extra malt used ,but this one has a golden color. It also made from wheat and has that typical taste of bananas and citrus. Absolutely delicious. |
