Backlash against having a black president for 8 years. Backlash against a potential female president. Anyone saying racism and sexism didn't play a part isn't being honest. Many people absolutely hate Hillary. Blacks staying away from the polls. Some people actually thought he would change things for the better. Lots of different things.

I was glad he beat Hillary.

I may be regretting this when he fires Mueller, pardons everyone in a position to turn on him and starts a civil war. I have been wrong with everything I have thought about Trump so I hope I am wrong about this.

His ability to lie and have no shame is at a level I did not think possible for a person in the public eye.

But there was Bernie Sanders. White, male, not a crook and for the workers.
So what happened ?
Why in the country of lawyers, Trump was not sent several times in front of the justice and sent to jail ?

IMO USA get a very strange population.

He was lucky enough to face an opponent who is a absolute miserable shrew. A really unlikeable human being. That's how he became President.

Bernie fell victim of the crooked DNC and the miserable shrew mentioned above. Bernie's not as smart as Trump.

Good question. Perhaps he is not be guilty of all the junk people try to hang on him. If he were he'd be in jail by now, wouldn't he?

Here in Europe, in the peace defender camp, people were afraid by Hillary Clinton. She was described as a highly potential war maker.
A war maker as dangerous as the Neocons, even if she was not of the same political border.

Neither was a great candidate, and could have easily been beaten had the other side done a better job finding the right nominee. Trump made campaign stops 3-4 times a day, in places he needed to win. Hilary did 3-4 a week, in places she already had locked up.
Hillary Clinton has not been charged with any crimes, because there is not enough evidence to bring an indictment, much less convict her. If there was evidence, Jeff Sessions would have sought an indictment.

Hillary ran a very poor campaign and was no doubt hindered by a bout with pneumonia during the campaign. Pneumonia drains your energy for weeks. On the other hand, there were 3 million more voters who thought her to be the better candidate than Trump, but the vagaries of the Electoral College placed him in office.

These will be seen as very dark days for the Republic by future historians.

Many people are urging Sessions to bring charges, however, Comey gave immunity deals to 5 of Hilary's closest people, that along with the admitted destroyed evidence, along with the rage in which the MSM would react, might make it difficult to bring a trial. The mere mention of Hilary going to prison during the debates brought forth a hatred the Left hasn't used since Sarah Palin was added as a running mate.
Bull turds. Most of the FBI is Republican. Comey did everything he possibly could to throw the election to Trump and the news reports were rife with leaks and innuendo from the FBI. It was only after Trump was in office that Comey got scared.

We don't hate Sarah Palin, but were appalled that the female version of Dan Quayle was put forward as a running mate for a man who very possibly might have died in office.

She got sick down the stretch. If you had ever had bacterial pneumonia you would know that type will leave one weakened for a couple of months. So called "walking pneumonia" is more like a bad cold.

Yes Trump lost in California by 4.2 million votes and in his home state of New York by 1.7 million votes. He won because of the Electoral College and was trounced in the popular vote.

The Electoral College vote determines the election. On a person to person vote significantly more voters preferred Mrs. Clinton to Trump. Also, many voters disliked both so much that they refused to vote.

I really applaud the efforts of those seeking to bring the Electoral College closer to the Founders intent by doing away with the winner-take-all allocation. Trump was trounced in California, but still garnered 32% of the vote. Fairness dictates that the Electoral votes ought to have been allocated 34 to Clinton, 18 to Trump, 2 to Gary Johnson, and 1 to Dr. Stein, instead of giving all 55 to Hillary Clinton.

I was not thrilled when Trump won. But I didn't want Hilary either. Martin O'Malley was my guy. But the proof is there, despite what CNN is trying to tell people, Trump has done a fine job through his first year. If the Korean Peninsula sees peace as is promised, then Trump gets considered one of the best ever.
I beg to differ, but only time will tell. You aren't worried about the Middle East and the extraordinarily long economic recovery at all?

Until now, only about the peace aspect, I listen quite a lot of non liberal left European analysts very glad that she was not elected.
When I listen to their observations, I'm glad that she was not elected too.
A still quite peacefull egomaniac Trump finally looks less dangerous compared to the war monster she seems to be.
In the past when liberal women reached the top of the pyramid of power, they proved that they were as dangerous as the most psychopath male politicians.
Just watch Thatcher or Rice, they both were horrible monsters.
