I disagree the Barron Knights were very clever in their use of parody and did some brilliant songs but of course they were a novelty act but then again loads of novelty acts had number one hits.
John Noakes appeared on a BBC show called FAX when he announced that Shep had died. The BBC had said he could keep him but reneged on that with Biddy Baxter saying that Shep belonged to the BBC. John appeared in some commercials with a similar collie dog called SKIP.

Frank Deford December 16, 1938 – May 28, 2017
Frank Deford, a legend in the world of sports journalism, has died at age 78 in Key West, Florida, according to his wife, Carol Penner Deford.
The Baltimore native spent 50 years writing for Sports Illustrated, but some might be more acquainted with his booming voice delivering his unique takes on sports on National Public Radio. Deford also wrote 18 books, nine of them novels -- such as "Everybody's All-American" -- in a wide-ranging career. source

Manuel Noriega, Panama ex-strongman, dies at 83
General Manuel Antonio Noriega, former military leader of Panama, has died aged 83, officials have announced. Noriega recently underwent an operation after suffering a haemorrhage following brain surgery. Noriega had been a key US ally but was forcibly removed when American troops invaded in 1989 and was later jailed in the US on drugs and laundering charges. He spent the rest of his life in custody, latterly in Panama for murder, corruption and embezzlement. But the former leader was released from jail in January to prepare for the operation in early March to remove a brain tumour. Details: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-40090143

Molly Peters 15 March 1942 - 30 May 2017
Her death was announced on the James Bond official Twitter account on Tuesday, in a post reading: “We are sad to hear that Molly Peters has passed away at the age of 75. Our thoughts are with her family.”
The English actress was famously the first ‘Bond girl’ to take her clothes off on screen in the 1965 film, sparking controversy and nearly earning the film an ‘X’ rating. source
