I've seen this has well, and I actually thing that has a concept and a narrative it's actually quite endearing.

For me, I think the problem is that it's a GOOD advert but it's advertising the WRONG product.
If this had been used to advertise a charity (like the Red Cross or something) it could have worked quite well, rather then just fast food.

When I looked at the response online, one person put it accurately by saying "That poor young boy is grieving for the loss of his father. What do you do? Buy him a CHEESEBURGER, that will make everything better!"

After three days of occupation by students of Kerr Hall, Chancellor George Blumenthal agreed to give all black and Caribbean-identified students a 4-year housing guarantee to live in the Rosa Parks African American Themed House; bring back the building’s lounge; paint its exterior the “Pan-Afrikan colors” of red, green and black; and force all new incoming students to go through a mandatory diversity competency training.

You'd think that would have settled the issue, but no...

Now feeling emboldened, the group has three other demands to the university, and it has warned UC Santa Cruz that it has four months to comply with these demands or more "reclamations” will result.

Now these whining snowflakes demand: that the university purchase a property “to serve as a low income housing cooperative for historically disadvantaged students", that the university “allocate $100,000” for Santa Cruz’s “SOMeCA” student organization support department, and that the university create either a Black Studies department or a Black Studies Minor or Major.

It costs over $30,000/year (in state, nearly double for out of state) to attend this institution. Where the hell are all these low income, disadvantaged people coming from?

I'm sure the chickenshit administration will cave.. they lost me at forcing all incoming students to undergo mandatory diversity training.

OK, i wonder what Sammy the slug had to say about this? The kid who was the leader of this demostrastion who negotiated this deal is the one everyone needs to be paying attention to cause that kid probably has a hell of a future ahead of him or her. Man, African Americans make up less than 5% of all students and they got all that? The one who lead this is one you rather have with you than against you.
