Michael J Fox is coming back to television in a new series years after giving up acting after being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease-quite an amazing feat-we wish him well.

British television drama series Coronation Street(devised by Tony Warren) was only supposed to last 6 weeks and was originally to be called 'Florizel Street'-still can't get rid of the bloody thing now after 50yrs!!

Eastenders spawn several hit records by artists that starred in it. Anita Dobson(Mrs Brian May) had a number one with a reworking of the theme tune 'Anyone can fall in love' - she played Angie Watts, landlady of the Queen Vic pub. Letitia Dean(Sharon Watts) & Paul J Medford(?) had a minor hit with 'Something outta Nothing' and Nick Berry(Simon Wicks) had a hit with 'Every Loser Wins.'

Speaking of hit records or novelty ones here's a few by comic actors/comedians-you may know others.
Charlie Drake-My Boomerang Won't Come Back
Terry Scott-My Brother
Bernard Cribbins - Hole in the Ground & Right Said Fred
Ken Dodd-Tears, Love Is Like A Violin & Happiness(his signature tune)
American Stan Freberg 'Dragonet' St George and the Dragon-featuring June Foray,Hy Averback and legendary cartoon voice Daws Butler. It is sheer genius. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUdFLyNCeI4

I saw the first 2 episodes and I don't think it will last very long.

That's right, there is no one definition. But there are definitions. Where I live a "lake" has to be at least 20.000 square meters (about 5 acres). If it's less, they don't call it a lake

Sounds fair to me. If it's bigger than 5 acres, it's not really a pond any more (although 5 acres isn't much of a lake either)

We've all heard of LOL(Laughing Out Loud) but did you know the French version is MDR(mort de rire or death/dying of laughter) cor those French eh dour souls, but in Thailand it is 555 because five in Thai is HA, hence 555 translates to HA HA HA!-clever eh? (incidentally this came from a question in tonight's University Challenge and yes I had to look up what MDR meant too)

In the early heydays of Aerosmith, just before going on stage Steven Tyler would gulp two martinis (with olives) and snort a rail of cocaine as long as your arm.

How he even stood up, much less performed, is beyond me.

Yeah...but coked-up Aerosmith is a far greater thing than clean & sober Aerosmith. Not that I condone drug use for anyone, but I'll take 'Toys In The Attic' over 'Permanent Vacation' any day of the week.

Another coke related performer story: And this has been circulating for a long time but I've never heard a direct confirmation [who the heck would wanna confirm it anyways?!]

Supposedly when Stevie Nicks was heavily into coke she did so much that she basically trashed the lining of her nose. Still being addicted she had to get her fix somehow. So the roadies would draw straws every night to see who would be the one to blow the coke up her butt through a tube.
