If you break/lose a stylus on your turntable(if you still have one of those) you can improvise using a needle and a piece of rolled up paper. Push the needle through the paper roll and then attach to the arm-the contact arm not your own or you could stick it with tape or blu-tack. Apparently it does work, I seem to recall that was part of a series of puzzles used in The Adventure Game in the 1980s-much loved by us 40 somethings.

Did you know that the Verve's(90s pop combo) album Urban Hymns was one the most returned albums of the 90s-why I am not sure, I got the cassette version and the songs 'The Drugs Don't Work' and 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' are really good.

Did you know that the video for Feel For You-Chaka Khan, not only had the rap bit been added, but had a sequence with models from a promo video-the producer thought it looked so good and fitted the song, he added it. Chaka Khan didn't know about this, but admitted that the video looked so good and liked the rapping before it.

Did you know...

The 1993 movie "Demolition Man" includes a scene, set in Los Angeles 2032, where a 20th century criminal is name-checked as "Scott Peterson". In 2005, a "Scott Peterson" was indeed sentenced in Los Angeles, although to death row and not Cryo-Prison.

Angry Got my High Voltage Liscence refresher course coming up

Did you know

Electricity travels at the speed of light
more than 300,000 kilometres per second.............. Boring So does the whole universe, don't make electricity unique

But If you were to grab hold of an active conductor ( 50 volts and above ) while barefoot standing on an earthed metal floor there's a real good chance your gonna die And.............. If you're standing on or near a downed power line........

Take as big a step as possible if you have too get out of there, the current flow can run between your legs and give your balls a real nasty tingle for lower voltages..... Bigger ones, forgedaboudit

See, I care

Ulan Bator is the capital of Mongolia, its also the capital city that's furthest from the sea.

Walt Disney, and later the Walt Disney Company definitely learned from their mistakes. The opening of Disneyland July 17 , 1955 was a disaster. They issued 10,000 to 15,000 tickets for a park that no one really knew what the capacity was. Twice that many showed up, many with counterfeit tickets.

Due to this every subsequent Disney Park was opened in the fall, usually October when all children would be in the middle of their school year, which would keep attendance down. This allowed them to work out the kinks and problems with the attractions without having to manage huge crowds.

Also, one of the persistent myths was that Disneyland had no water fountains, in order to force the patrons to buy expensive glasses of Coca-Cola and Pepsi. The truth was that Orange County had experienced a plumbers strike, which was only settled days before the opening of Disneyland. The choice was either working bathrooms and toilets, or water fountains. The former obviously was the smarter choice.
