I agree Venezuela's problems make ours pale into almost insignificance, the mega rich will survive as they do all over the world
It even comes down to this
Animals go hungry in Venezuela zoos due to shortages
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-36911231

Leave it to the leaders to have the last word as they surely know what problems their country is facing.

Government officials have denied the deaths were due to a lack of food.

Another bad week for Sturgeon and the SNP. Firstly, their own think-tank reported that it would cost the Scottish economy a staggering £10bn to set up their own currency. Secondly, the SNP's Stasi-like 'Named Person Scheme' was ruled unlawful. And thirdly, the latest opinion poll indicates that the clear majority of Scottish people still want to remain within the UK.

We want Scotland to remain in the UK, but the problem is when we leave the EU will Sturgeon think she can win another Independence vote-dare she try it? I personally don't think she will risk it but we have to keep Scotland sweet and if May makes one error she will jump on that. It is going to take a lot of diplomacy on May's behalf to stop Sturgeon from doing so.

Feeling lousy at the moment, sneezing my head off, not sure if it is hayfever or a cold-either way dosing up on Paracetamol and warm drinks. Thankfully the really hot weather has subsided for now and some welcome rain may well be coming our way this week and cooler nights.

I detest Ms Sturgeon with a passion. If called upon to hang her for treason I would do it, and sleep like a baby afterwards. But I have gained a lot of respect for her political skills. She has done all she can so far to de-stabilise the United Kingdom and she has done it without committing herself to a position from which she cannot retreat. That is a genuine and classy display of skill, far more accomoplished than anything we ever saw from Lord Snooty (Mr Cameron) or AJ Raffles, Gentleman-Thief (George Osbourn). As I say, I could hang the bitch. But a lot of other current UK politicians could do a lot worse than watch her and learn.

The latest poll on YouGov shows that the result of another Scottish Independence referendum would be the same as last time.

The loathsome Ms Krankie, [like Scoundrel I think she should be tried for treason], knows that and will not risk another defeat which would destroy the SNP.

Both Ossama Bin Laden and the Taliban were as you say heavily supported and trained by the US government, with the odd bit of help, especially on training from Britain, Of course then they wee the good guys, fighting the awful Soviets in Afghanistan, and of course bringing Soviet technology back for western study and analysis. But then of course they were the mujahedin!

The far right is a huge threat, and of course at the moment being under estimated by the press and public. But European government policies towards refugee and immigration, is not helping!

Sturgeon was told quite bluntly by the EU, non elected dictatoriat, to get stuffed. She has been told by the people of Scotland to get stuffed, her MP's in Westminster have realised, that despite their numbers they too can get stuffed. That is a lot of stuffing!

That said, I too want Scotland to remain part of Great Britain, but if they do want to go their own way, it should be made clear from day one, all British Forces would be withdrawn from Scotland, with the consequent job losses and withdrawal of all equipment. The NHS for Scotland would need to buy all NHS equipment in Scotland or it would be bought back to England for redistribution. There would be no more tax hand outs, and the civil service in Scotland, would cease being paid by Westminster the day independence was started. Be interesting to see how many Scots would vote for what Independence really means!

BTW they would need to be given back their Gas and Oil revenues, and of course renegotiate all the contracts in their part of the North Sea!

I dont think we could expropriate the equipment in Scotland's NHS hospitals. There would probably be a negotiated settlement in which we divvied out the public assets, including tanks, guns, ships and planes. Scotland would also get her fisheries (I sense French and Dutch fishermen getting interested). But for sure the Barnett Formula would be yesterday's news. I did see not so long since that Ms Sturgeon waxed indignant over a delay to a major shipbuilding contract from the MoD which affects the Clyde shipbuilders, citing it as a consequence for Scotland of the naughty bad English Brexit vote. Ruth Davidson (Con Scotland) pointed out that Ms Sturgeon, if PM of an independent Scotland, is planning to build exactly zero warships, which will not do wonders for Clydeside. But this is mere logic.

Of course she leant it all from Two Jobs Soapy Souter. The man who likes to put in expenses for an M&S £1.49 Prawn Sandwich whilst at the same time telling everyone in Scotland that they must do their best to create jobs.

I'm afraid Brexit has killed his lifetime dream of a job in the European Parliament.

Shame.

I notice that there have been some zika virus cases in Florida. Surely it's just a matter of time until Trump announces that he will put up a giant mosquito net over America if elected.
