Bloody Women!

My good lady decided she wanted to go to Ikea after lunch while I had my heart set on a wander to the pub, but as we have just got back together after a big row I did the dutiful thing.
Now I hate Ikea and shopping in general with a passion but I thought I would take my Aston for a run out, well the M62 was at a standstill for an overturned caravan, it took me 2-3 hours to do 25 miles I was swearing like a trooper all the way there when we got there the item she wanted was out of stock so I swore all the way back!
When I got home the pub was shut, do I need to say any more?

tab mate you can check on-line if your nearest Ikea has the item in stock or phone them.Thats one thing I learnt about Ikea their organised.BTW what's you're favourite watering hole in Leeds ? been a fair few years I was last supping the pints there.

Ikea didn't exist when Benjamin Franklin was alive or he might have added it to death and taxes: the certainty that one day, wriggle as you might, you will have to go to Ikea. The one tabler refers to is in a trading estate just off Junction 27 of the M62, [the arterial road connecting Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, York and Hull]. The Ikea traffic is thick as treacle on a good day, and when you do get there, try finding a vacant space in their car park...

The whole Ikea experience is bizarre. Imagine Stalin's Russia, but with lots of modernist flat pack furniture, and you're getting the idea. There are coloured footprints telling you the path through the store, so if I have to be there I walk the opposite way out of mere stubbornness. The whole business of you personally picking the items from the shelves of their warehouse is deeply irritating. There are always big queues at the tills and the air there would be boiling hot if there was a howling blizzard outside.

Ingvar Kamprad, who founded the chain, fessed up not too long ago to having been a Nazi sympathiser in the 1940s: he reasonably points out that he was only one of millions to be similarly deluded at the time and he wrote a personal apology to every Ikea employee known to be of Jewish extraction. I don't want to cite him as a Nazi sympathiser now (I'm sure he isn't) but to note that his stores have a rather strange attitude to their customers, not quite what you would expect in a liberal democracy...

One saving grace of Ikea though is the Swedish meatballs in their cafeteria: if you have to be there at a mealtime, I thoroughly recommend their Swedish meatballs: delicious.

Really annoying, the sales rep who knocks on your door asking if you want too change over to their power/gas/phone company
Though I get back at them If I've got the time I'll act interested, ask questions and make them feel good about a potential sale. Then after about 10 or 15 minutes they will normally hand over a pen too start filling out paperwork and I'll let them know that I was only wasting their time Then you never see them again.
