Looks like there is a problem when uploading large sets to Pixhost. I just tried with a set of 104 rather big pictures (slightly over 200 MiB in total) and got the error message

413 Request Entity Too Large

Oh well.

Does anyone who uses Hotflick know if they are currently experiencing any difficulties? I have been using them perfectly for the past several days, but today following an upload I receive either a "dir not found" in small letters at the very top left of my screen, or none of the codes do not appear in any of the boxes following the upload.

It seems to be working OK now. Maybe they were down briefly for some type of maintenance.

In related news, some other host is "down briefly for some type of maintenance."

EDIT: ImagaBam is back now, I didn't really expect that considering the high load that their servers must be suffering as everyone is trying to grab what they can from ImageBam.

I think perhaps the same effect is similarly occurring to many hosts out there ... Their servers are being overloaded by a bombardment of thousands of people re-upping a multitude of material from Imagebam and Imgbox.

BTW, Thursday night and Hotflick is down again. I am receiving the same message (dir not found) which I was receiving earlier in the morning.

By trial and error I found out that the maximum size of an upload seems to be ~100 MiB: a picture set with 99 MiB was accepted, one with 109 MiB failed with the above error. Larger galleries cannot be created by uploading files with a browser.

I suspect it is possible to create larger galleries by using the Pixhost API for them, using your own upload tool. But the question is whether the .zip download of such galleries succeeds, or if it also fails with a 413 error.
